where do I begin?

Greetings Family,

As I write these words I am humbled my the information provided via these forums. The wealth of information we possess is amazing, especially knowing what they do for us not to use it. I'm saddened that it took me 31years to find it but appreciative the ancestors guided me at this juncture in my life where I seek wisdom. I'm enlighten by everything I've read but I just have one question: Where do I begin?


A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

I was born in Trinidad, moved to NY when I was 12 and have been a pan-Afrikanist since I was 21. 2 1/2 years ago I moved to London and started working on my family tree, I was keen to learn about the ones who came before me. I 'heard' a few things while living in London and Trinidad but didn't start to actively search until I moved back to NY last October. I've meet a couple of priest/ess but I was turned off by their inclusion of chiristianity in Yoruba traditions. With the information from the forums I'm planning to set up my egun altar and have regular communications with my ancestors. But how do I find out who my Ori is? How do I go about finding a godfather or godmother who can guide me?

Any information will be much appreciated.
