The corporate media is playing out all the gory and meticulous details of the sham “rescue plans” “bailouts” and “stimulosus packages” in a deliberate effort to dupe us into believing the government is actually trying to solve the problem and is working to revive the US economy. The sad reality is the US economy is imploding from the greed, fraud and corruption of the last several decades and there is little Barack Obama can do to stop it, by doing what he is proposing. He is doing exactly what his Wall Street benefactors and handlers expect him to do, save them at the expense of the rest of the economy and buy them some additional time before the system totally implodes. Most serious economist know this will not save the economy and its only a matter of time before the bankers will need additional funds to stay afloat. The media induced adoration of President Obama as opposed to the universal loathing of Bu$h-Cheney will buy Obama enough time to push the ruling oligarches’ fascist agenda forward. The media is telling us we’re facing the worst crisis since the Great Depression. The corporate mind control apparatus is on Obama’s side despite the snipping and attacks by Republicans and a few disgruntled white guys who can’t stand the notion of a black man as president even one who is doing the bidding of the white ruling elites. It’s all part of the game.

Philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” Looking at the economic collapse of 2007 is a virtual reliving of the 1929 Stock Market crash, the hyper inflation of the Vietnam war era, the Savings and Loan fiasco of the ‘80's the Enron and Worldcom scandals and the DotCom pump and dump scheme of 2000 all rolled into one ! Because we are not taught to be critical thinkers and we are definitely not taught how a capitalist economy really works the ruling elites easily bamboozle us and make us think there is absolutely no connection or relevance between the past and what is happening now. Nothing could be further from the truth. The past is the antecedent to the present, current events are a precursor to the future.

Following the stock market crash of 1929 and the election of Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1932, a Democratically controlled US Senate launched an investigation into the causes of the debilitating crash. Overcoming Republican attempts to stonewall such an investigation ( just like George W. Bu$h did following 9-11) the Democrats were able to recruit a fearless US Attorney named Ferdinand Pecora to head the Senate investigation. Pecora called key witnesses including Andrew Mellon the former Secretary of Treasury to get at the root of what caused the stock market crash. The Pecora Commission uncovered the rampant fraud, collusion, stock price manipulation, massive speculation and over leveraged risky deals behind the crash. As a result, Roosevelt initiated sweeping regulatory changes, he created the SEC, the FDIC and Congress passed the Glass Steagall Act to break up Wall Street investment and commercial banking cartels and separate their functions. Roosevelt also stepped in and prevented the banks from foreclosing on thousands of small farms and working class folks’ homes. The bankers weren’t happy with him but in the short term his actions probably prevented open rebellion and possibly a revolution.

But the real threat to the nation’s security came in 1933 not from farmers, veterans and irate homeowners but rich fascists (members of a group called the American Liberty League) who plotted to overthrow Roosevelt. Of course since they were the giants of industry, finance and banking like Dupont, Morgan and even Prescott Bu$h (George H.W’s father and George W’s grandfather) none of them were ever arrested, did a day in jail or lost any of their money. This is an unknown part of AmeriKKKan history. That’s another similarity between 1933 and today; like their 1933 predecessors, none of today’s crooks, swindlers and thieves will do any time in jail. Think about his, if you are involved in an automobile accident, an altercation or a domestic dispute you could go to jail at least while awaiting your trial. But crooks Bernard Madoff and Henry Paulson remain free to live the “good life”.

We need to go back and study what was going on in the 1920's- 40's to get a holistic grasp of what is happening now. The same people (or their descendants) and institutions, conditions and practices that brought on the stock market crash, the Great Depression and plotted against Roosevelt are working behind the scenes to foment today’s “crisis”. Only today they use their bought and paid for lackeys in the Congress to get what they want. For example in 1996, the US Congress and Bill Clinton repealed the Glass Steagall Act and the financial sector lobbied to prevent regulation of Hedge Funds and the newly emerging Shadow Financial System. Their actions set the tone and tenor for today’s collusion, kleptomania and corruption. The recent Bank bailouts are a perfect example. Before you brush me off as a “conspiracy nut” keep in mind the definition of a conspiracy is: “a combination of two or more persons to commit a criminal or unlawful act, or to commit a lawful act by criminal or unlawful means; or a combination of two or more persons by concerted action to accomplish an unlawful purpose or some purpose not in itself unlawful by unlawful means.” The more we look at what is going on them clearer it is to see a concerted action by the banks, corporations, mass media and politicians to rob us of our wealth and defraud us using the instruments and power of the government to transfer wealth from the taxpayers to the super rich. If that isn’t a conspiracy I don’t know what is.

Barack Obama may not be in on it as an active conspirator or participant but he is being used to carry out the real conspirator’s agenda. How much will this “stimulus plan” benefit you personally? How much of it is benefitting Wall Street?
