      The Kundalini
      Tatiacha

There are a lot of misconceptions about the Kundalini flow in Eastern Philosophies. First of all it is seen as a spiraling energy that comes from the root chakra which it affects but is not it’s source. I think we all probably know the basics of the auric field and 7 basic chakras (although if anyone doesn’t please speak up, there is no level of information required to participate on this list!) These are the energies that most people are dealing with who are not on an ascension journey. When a soul comes into a life and they want to have tremendous spiritual growth, or the potential of ascension, they always plan to open the Kundalini energy flow, which is the first activation of the sacred sphere.

What the Kundalini does, is, it shifts the vibration of your DNA structure. You have a sphere around you that is used in mastery that simply is inactive before the activation of the Kundalini. On this sphere there are 7 energy centers called the elemental chakras. One in each of the 4 directions, north is air, west is fire, south is earth, and east is water. Then you have a body elemental that sits below, a soul elemental that sits within between where the solar plexus and heart chakras are, that connects the soul to the sphere and a divine mind elemental that sits above. These positions correspond to the 7 totem positions for some of you who may have worked with some of the Native American teachings. There are also two other totems the primary totems that sit to your right and left. The original teachings of the medicine wheel are also a way of visualizing the ascension journey and relate the what the Dharljas call the eternal circle

The Kundalini flow is divine energy that enters the body elemental from the higher self and moves up into the root chakra where it activates the DNA creation center that sits slightly higher and on the back side of the body from the root chakra. This center enacts the shift in vibration programmed in by the higher self while the body was being created in the womb. In men this is the only time the DNA creation center becomes active, in women the center actives at conception and stays open for about the first 4 weeks of pregnancy for the soul of the baby to attach it’s energies to the body being formed. Women plan to either have their children before any Kundalini activation, wait until it is complete, or choose to not have children. The activation of the DNA creation center and shift in vibration during pregnancy beyond the normal 4 weeks would cause loss of the pregnancy. From there the energy moves upward through all the chakras shifting the vibrational frequency of the DNA as it goes. When it reaches the soul elemental more energy is added and it continues to move upward until it has moved through the head and leaves through the divine mind elemental chakra above and exits back to the higher self. This flow then continues forever. It is a spiral energy and entwines itself around the natural pre Kundalini flow (normal energy flow) that enters the crown chakra on top of the head and goes downward though the chakras exiting the root.

The whole process can take from 6 months to 10 years. It can begin as early as 6 to 12 months of age. Many of the very enlightened children that are coming to the planet now have opened their Kundalini fully by the age of 2 or 3.

It is always something we plan for our life and there are a few reasons why. First higher self must decide how big of a vibrational jump will be made with the Kundalini opening. The process can be very difficult if a jump that is too large is made. Many people have died in the process of opening their Kundalini when the higher self either planned to large of a jump, or the person didn’t do the preparation before hand. What I mean by this is lets say your plan was to start to explore spiritual teachings at the age of 25 and then have your Kundalini begin to open at the age of 35. If you never started to explore spirituality at 25 that’s 10 years worth of growth and raising your vibration that never occurred. So when the Kundalini begins to open at 35 you are unprepared for the shift in vibration. The Kundalini always begins at a prearranged time. This is one of the misconceptions in the Eastern Philosophy, the belief that you can do anything that will activate the Kundalini flow. It has been a major frustration of the Yoga community that some without any effort seem to open it while another can spend a whole life of practice and discipline to no avail.

A large vibrational jump can cause intense stress on the body. Many people recognize the "symptoms" when we talk about it, and realize that their Kundalini has opened, or know exactly where it is in the process. As they have some of the symptoms at each stage, that disappear as mysteriously as they began when the Kundalini moves up to the next stage.

Stages of the Kundalini and typical issues that may arise:

Root chakra: colon problems, urinary tract infections, constipation, bad cases can result in colon or prostate cancer.

Navel chakra: Conception problems in woman ovarian cancer, irregular menstrual bleeding, uterine cysts, candida albicans over growth in the intestines, appendicitis, kidney problems, intense discomfort in the minor chakras of the spiritual body that are just below the hip bone in the front on each side.

Solar Plexus chakra: gall stones, pancreatic problems, shortness of breath, stomach issues heartburn, ulcers

Heart chakra: palpitations, heart attack (pseudo heart attack in the case of my mother, she had a full blown attack off to the hospital in the ambulance the whole deal. The paramedics thought she was not doing good when she got to the hospital she had abnormal heart rhythms, typical of cardiac arrest, but upon doing the blood test they could find no evidence that she actually had a heart attack.) tightness in chest is common. A feeling of intense pressure on the chest, lung congestion, during both the heart and the throat time period. A discomfort in the upper minor spiritual chakras that are on the upper chest (slightly up and 1 to 2 inches from the armpit) the discomfort may be felt on the front or in back behind the shoulder blade

Throat chakra: Sore throat, difficulty expressing thoughts, a singer may experience a shift in their voice or an inability to sing for a period. Thyroid problems, an intense tightness up the spine at the back of the neck, high blood pressure often accompanies this period through the end and may start at the period of the heart chakra.

Mind chakra (third eye) headaches, vision distortion, a need for glasses, trouble concentrating, pressure in the head the feeling of a band around the forehead, extreme cases aneurysm or stoke

Crown chakra: this is the breakthrough point sometimes people think they are going crazy. There are often rushes of energy, dizziness, people become ungrounded for a time have trouble staying in their body.

Those are the difficulties however some people have no difficulties and during the process many spiritual gifts begin to open up even for those who do have difficulties. At the throat for example it is not unusual to develop a new form of communication with guides, to start writing music or poetry, heart is a common place for people to begin doing spiritual healing work, the root can open up a dialog with the animals or even bring a knowing of how to use certain herbs and knowledge of this nature. The navel can open new creative gifts, people with no drawing experience for example have started drawing pictures of spirits at this stage or started to make drums and rattles for sacred ceremony that have a very different energy to them, things of this nature.

      Peace My Beloved Family!

Thank you Sister for sharing such Wonderfully Useful information!

I utilize vibrational medicine in my practice & studies...

I have been aware of Kundalini energy for years now, however, you made some points here that are rather valid and give greater insight into the matter.

This is indeed very good information and i will keep a copy of it for myself to study it in more depth.

Someone brought this topic up on another board I failed to mention my two favorite practical guides to developing your Kundalini safely. They both require real discipline, so if you can't pledge at least two-three months of effort, don't bother even clicking the links.

It goes without saying that any exploration of Kundalini is relatively dangerous with a good teacher, as you actually heighten your facultities before mastering them. Some people descend into their worse desires and character traits by studying sloppy methods. So be cautious. I also find that 99% of books on the subject are completely and utterly useless which is why I have only recommended these two by one author. I find the very best books can be found in Chinatown, written in one part english, one part chinese. They will printed by small chinese publishers are usually written for martial art students from China.

Don't let the titles throw you off, its not just for cultivating sexual satisfication. This is a holistic exercise manual that will elevate your Spirit as well!

I also STRONGLY recommend the study of Astanga Yoga (Not "Power Yoga") and Chi Kung for those that want to "massage" their Kundalini Fire.

For Indigenous worshippers, we get initiated or receive the consecrated shrines of Deities like Sango and then ask for special instruction from the Masters. Not every one initiated or that owns the consecrated shrine of these Deities will know what you are talking about in the West. Look for Orisa/Chakra coorelations from an initiated priest in The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts by Baba Ifa Karade.

I would also recommend the following cassette by Ra Un Nefer Amen as PRELIMINARY work: Niramanu Naddi Shuddi

An introduction to Kundalini, Chakra work and general exploration is Finding of the Third Eye by Vera S. Alder

Crown Chakra or Chakra seven~(Crown/Sahasrara Chakra):

This energy center the seventh charka opens into the aura, the human energy or spiritual field of the human body this energy center is located at the top of the head out into the universe, has 1,000 petals and is associated with knowledge, understanding and transcendent consciousness, being at one and connected to the Creator, Spirit, etc. In a normal position this energy center is as open as possible, if it is shut down we have feelings of being lost, alone, abandoned and that there is no end in sight. There are feelings that we have to do it ALL alone. Physical symptoms of a blocked Crown Chakra include pain at the top of the head.

Third Eye Chakra or Chakra six~(Third Eye)/Ajna Chakra):

This energy center is located in the center of the forehead ,has two petals and is associated with clairvoyance, intuition and imagination, spiritual vision, sensibility, thoughts and emotions. In a normal position it is as open as possible, if shut down the ability to receive information from a higher source may be blocked entirely. Physical symptoms of a blocked Third Eye Chakra include migraines and pain at the base of the skull.

Throat Chakra or Chakra five~(Throat.Vishuddhi Chakra):

This energy center is located in the base of the neck just below the throat, has sixteen petals and is associated with communication and creativity, artistic talents, speech, lungs, individually, thyroid glands. In a normal position this chakra is open as much as possible, if shut down there is a likelihood of self expression arising, and because this energy center contains telepathic channels in the sinuses and ear canals these abilities can be hindered as well. It is typical for opinionated people to cast judgments and criticism, and it would be in this energy center that their negative energy would collect. The physical symptoms of a blocked Throat Chakra would be sore throat, sinus headaches and frequent colds

Heart Chakra or Chakra four~(Heart/Anahata Chakra):

is located two hand breadths below the base of the neck in the middle of the chest area just over the sternum, it has twelve petals and is associated with love, social activities, tolerance, higher emotions. In a normal position this charka is in an open position, if this charka is left in a locked open state, difficulties feeling self-love or love for anyone else can develop, leaving us feeling cut off and isolated, sometimes a disconnection to Divine Source within ourselves can be lost as well. When functioning at optimum capacity this charka acts as a barometer easily identifying other people's energy and we are better able to determine where a person is coming from. Physical symptoms of a blocked Heart Chakra would be pain between the shoulder blades and/or heart problems.

Solar Plexus Chakra or Chakra three~( Naval.Manipura Chakra):

This energy center controls loving energy and is located in the solar plexus, two finger breaths from the sternum, it has ten petals and is associated with personal power (in terms of energetic life force), will and self-esteem, the nervous system, practical thinking, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach and stability of blood vessels. In a normal position it is open ten percent, if it is shut down overcompensation for feelings of powerlessness can delevelop leaving one with a particularly combative personality and in an angry state. If this chakra is left in a locked open state, feelings of victimization, blaming others for our problems can become a block to seeing our part and responsibility or events in our own lives. The physical symptoms of the Solar Plexus Chakra being in a blocked state would include ulcers and shortness of breath.

Sacral Chakra or Chakra Two-~(Sacral/Swadhisthana Chakra):

is the energy center that controls the emotions, with an emphasis on sexuality. It is located above the pubic bone, has six petals and is associated with in the lower abdomen, influencing the genitals, allergies, and lymphatic system. In a normal position this chakra is open ten percent, if it is shut down it tends to cause difficulty in recognizing our feelings, sexual impulses and /or creative expression. If it becomes locked in an open position it tends to create sexual impulsiveness or let our creative inspiration take over above all else. The physical symptoms of a blocked Sacral chakra would be sexual dysfunction, sexually related illness/disease and/or digestive difficulties.

Root Chakra or Chakra one~(Base/Muladhara Chakra):

is the energy center that controls survival (fight or flight), it is located at the base of the spine and opens to the ground through the perineum, it's location is different in a man then a woman, it has four petals and is associated with, the adrenal glands and the will to live. In a normal position this chakra is open ten percent, but if it is shut down we can become what some refer to as "accident prone", clumsy, clumsy. If it becomes locked in an open position, nearly anything can be perceived as a crisis or emergency. Physical symptoms of a blocked Root chakra can be chronic lower back pain.

More on what chakras are and their psychological properties:

Chakras are centers of energy, located on the midline of the body. There are seven of them, and they govern our psychological properties. The chakras located on the lower part of our body are our instinctual side, the highest ones our mental side.

The chakras can have various levels of activity. When they're "open," they're considered operative in a normal fashion.

Ideally, all chakras would contribute to our being. Our instincts would work together with our feelings and thinking. However, this is usually not the case. Some chakras are not open enough (being under-active), and to compensate, other chakras are over-active. The ideal state is where the chakras are balanced. To find out what the state of your chakras is, do the chakra test.

There exist lots of techniques to balance the chakras. Mostly techniques to open chakras are used. It makes no sense to try to make over-active chakras less active, as they are compensating for other chakras. To restore the compensation they'd be over-active again in no time. To stop them from compensating, the chakras they are compensating for must be opened. See the techniques to open chakras.

      1 - Root chakra
The Root chakra is about being physically there and feeling at home in situations. If it is open, you feel grounded, stable and secure. You don't unnecessarily distrust people. You feel present in the here and now and connected to your physical body. You feel you have sufficient territory.

If you tend to be fearful or nervous, your Root chakra is probably under-active. You'd easily feel unwelcome.

If this chakra is over-active, you may be very materialistic and greedy. You're probably obsessed with being secure and resist change.

      2 - Sacral chakra

The Sacral chakra is about feeling and sexuality. When it is open, your feelings flow freely, and are expressed without you being over-emotional. You are open to intimacy and you can be passionate and lively. You have no problems dealing with your sexuality.

If you tend to be stiff and unemotional or have a "poker face," the Sacral chakra is under-active. You're not very open to people.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to be emotional all the time. You'll feel emotionally attached to people and you can be very sexual.

      3 - Navel chakra
The Navel chakra is about asserting yourself in a group. When it is open, you feel in control and you have sufficient self esteem.

When the Navel chakra is under-active, you tend to be passive and indecisive. You're probably timid and don't get what you want.

If this chakra is over-active, you are domineering and probably even aggressive.

      4 - Heart chakra
The Heart chakra is about love, kindness and affection. When it is open, you are compassionate and friendly, and you work at harmonious relationships.

When your Heart chakra is under-active, you are cold and distant.

If this chakra is over-active, you are suffocating people with your love and your love probably has quite selfish reasons.

      5 - Throat chakra
The Throat chakra is about self-expression and talking. When it is open, you have no problems expressing yourself, and you might be doing so as an artist.

When this chakra is under-active, you tend not to speak much, and you probably are introverted and shy. Not speaking the truth may block this chakra.

If this chakra is over-active, you tend to speak too much, usually to domineer and keep people at a distance. You're a bad listener if this is the case.

      6 - Third Eye chakra
The Third Eye chakra is about insight and visualization. When it is open, you have a good intuition. You may tend to fantasize.

If it is under-active, you're not very good at thinking for yourself, and you may tend to rely on authorities. You may be rigid in your thinking, relying on beliefs too much. You might even get confused easily.

If this chakra is over-active, you may live in a world of fantasy too much. In excessive cases hallucinations are possible.

      7 - Crown chakra
The Crown chakra is about wisdom and being one with the world. When this chakra is open, you are unprejudiced and quite aware of the world and yourself.

If it is under-active, you're not very aware of spirituality. You're probably quite rigid in your thinking.

If this chakra is over-active, you are probably intellectualizing things too much. You may be addicted to spirituality and are probably ignoring your bodily needs.

      Chakra Meditation

      0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
Here is a wonderful Daily Chakra Meditation to help keep your chakras clear and flowing with vital energy.

      1. Find a quiet place where you can be alone, without any disruptions. I know for many of us, this can be difficult, especially if there are others in the house. One thing that I find helpful, is to talk with your family members, and let them know that you are going to meditate or have some “alone-time,” and if they will please not disturb you for the next 30 minutes (or how ever long you need). You are entitled to this time and should not feel guilty for taking it. Don’t feel bad if you can’t do it on a daily basis, just do it whenever you can. Don’t forget to turn your phone off.

      2. Now, make your space conducive to meditation in what ever way pleases you. I like to light candles, burn incense and play meditation music. What ever helps you focus, relax, and feel at ease.

      3. Once you have your space all set up, find a comfortable place to sit, either on the floor or in a chair. Make sure your back is properly supported. I often lean up against my bed and just put a pillow behind my back. You may sit in any way you find comfortable. Some people prefer not to cross anything (they feel it is blocking energy) I personally feel that energy will flow when you are comfortable, whatever position that may be.

      4. Now, close your eyes and take several deep breaths. Breath in through your nose and release the air through your mouth. Slowly and comfortably. Do this about ten times and all the while imagine all of the thoughts cluttering your mind floating away in a bubble. They can’t enter your head, you are free from all thoughts. (Don’t worry if this seems difficult, it takes a lot of practice before being able to completely quiet your mind. The point is to relax and to not worry)

      5. Next, imagine your root chakra. Visualize the beautiful, red color radiating from this chakra. Feel the energy vortex swirling with bright red light. Imagine it clear and balanced and rotating like a wheel. See the color red.

      6. Once you feel comfortable with the root chakra, move up towards your sacral chakra. Feel the orange energy generating in a circular fashion, flowing clear and balanced. Visualize the beautiful, orange light radiating from this chakra.

      7. Now, begin to focus on your solar plexus chakra. Take a few minutes to imagine a whirling vortex of energy with a bright yellow and gold emitting from this chakra. Feel it clear and balanced.

      8. Next, begin to focus on your heart chakra. Feel your chest begin to open and expand and all of the glorious green light energy flowing free. Your heart chakra feels clear and balanced.

      9. Now you will move to your throat chakra. Imagine the periwinkle blue energy whirling and flowing , allowing you to open up and communicate freely. Feel this chakra becoming clear and balanced.

      10. Next you will move to your third-eye chakra. Feel your forehead open and expand as the violet light energy flows through this chakra allowing you to see and experience clearly. (This is the chakra that allows you to “see” things with your psychic eye. When it is clear and balanced, and you are open and willing to receive, it will be come easier to see “psychic visions,” especially during meditation).

      11. Now you will move to your crown chakra. Feel the top of your head open and expand as the violet-white light pours through your head, slowly working its way down your entire body. Allow this beautiful light of God to fill you with peaceful energy. Imagine it slowly working down your neck and into your shoulders. Feel the energy move down your arms and out through your fingertips. It is slowing moving down your torso and down your legs and toes where it turns around and flows up and out of your body,
completely surrounding you in the white light of love.

      12. Imagine this beautiful light flowing through your aura, keeping you balanced and in peace. Imagine locking it in with the positive energy of the universe, allowing you to keep the white light with you throughout the day.

      13. Now, you will prepare to come back from your meditation. Start to consciously breath deeply; breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. As you are doing this, start to feel your body; feel your arms, hands, legs, and feet. Hear the music, smell the candles, and feel yourself back in your room; your chakras are balanced, and a wonderful sensation of peace surrounds you.

      14. Slowly open your eyes and just look around and enjoy the peace. Sit there for a few minutes in the relaxation until you are ready to get up and go on with your day

Bismillaah ir Rahmaan ir Rahiim. Salaam, All. Thank you for this thread, and I am happy to see that there is so much interest in returning to "Self." I did a little writing about my experiences, on the previous fourm, which was taken down, so, I expect that those posts are gone. Of course I am new to some of the foregoing descriptions concerning the characterizations of the chakras, but I am still in learning mode, and quite interested in them. This 'path' - climbing Allaah's High Mountain, All Glory Be To HIM - seems not to appeal to all who are of a religious or Spiritual, inclination. It is definitely a path, of no looking back. Once, the decision is made to turn unto the path, all could be lost if, one looks back - at the world and its distractions. The New Testament, has many similitudes concerning this lack of planning, or no firm resolve, in the service of THE ONE GOD. Its mystical sense needs to be explored, as there is much guidance relating to the topic of this thread, contained therein, especially so, in 'The Revelation Of [ST.] John.' But, know that all success in this area, is with the Grace, of Allaah; The All Knowing, The Wise, The Subtle. I worked at opening the chakras for twenty years - or more - and then suddenly realized that it was happening seemingly by itself. I needed only to perfect my concentration a little more, to become aware of what was taking place. But there are problems. You are becoming Virtuous, Righteous, a Devotee, of The Will, of THE ONE AND ONLY GOD; and since this is the Satans, world, you are not welcomed here. So get used to 'the bums rush,' if you will. A firm resolve is a must, have! Salaam. ShakaZulu
