Do you have any stories that connect Astrology to ending self hate?

No problem. This little Planet definetly has a powerful impact on the mind. Try to take advantage of (and focus on) the positive side of this time as much as you possibly can. It actually provides me a better opportunity to rethink and adjust my thoughts, attitudes and decisions about future issues and relationships.

Self hate as in an Afrikan person who hates his/her Afrikan identity and may try to distance himself/herself from their identity or Self hate as in a particular Zodiac sign hating himself/herself for displaying certain personality traits associated with that sign? Please, enlighten me with one of your stories.

Yes of course, out of the negative comes the positive if you look at it in a positive way. I actually like when Mercury goes retrograde becuse it is another testament to the fact that Astrology is real.

Here is a story, because we black people have been stripped of many things, particularly here in America, we tend to act and react in ways that prove to further go against us. Most of the times, from what I have observed, we are acting and reacting out of our negative conditioning which is the depths of our negative Astrological makeup. Those of us, who are not aware of our positive potential, we tend to get stuck, only doing the negative actions and reactions... Hence, we never go away from the negative behavior, no matter how succesful we may (appear) to be. This kind of ignorance to a knowledge of self, leads us into not really liking who we are, or in this case, what we have become and anything that mirrors who we are/ what we have become, our brothers and sisters (the mirrors) we hate them also. Hence we hate ourselves, so we also hate our brothers and sisters.

I have had discussions with many sisters about Astrology, who dislike other black women and when we did their chart, in conjunction with black history and some talk about the psychology of black women, some of them cried. They didn't tell me why they was crying, but I knew.

Jamila, you must tell me how to post my chart, tell me in a profile message. Thanks in advance

Just to let you all know, I don't want to get bogged down with doing favors that do not assist the purpose of this thread. My services, as long as it is pertaining to this thread are Free. Anything outside of this thread is a whole other ball game.

Another thing, I am not a fortune teller, so my purpose is not to entertain you... Although learning about ones self through Astrology, does have it's entertainment perks, the main focus and goal is to understand ones self in relation to others. After I have kept my word, by taking out my time to do your chart and post your surface reading, I would very much so appreciate it if we could all stick to our words by sharing with everyone what the reading has helped us to understand about ourself, and how it can assist us as well as others, with putting an end to self hate. If we can not stick to our word, it puts us further away from tolerance, in other words a few steps back from reaching the goal, which is to end self hate.

I am not sure brotha, you need to get your chart done if you would like me to assist you with discovering the answer to your question. If you want to pursue a chart, I will need your date and time of birth, plus where you were born. If you want your birth info to not be seen in this thread, you can PM it to me. Then, I will case a chart, interpret it, then, with your permission, I will post the results here in this thread for all to see.

I've always had an interest in astrology, but not that horoscope in the daily paper or magazines. In a more serious way. I've had a curiousity. Last year I finally started taking astrology classes. I'm so glad I did.

I had my chart done several years ago but I'm still trying to understand and deconstruct and then bring everything back together.

I don't have a powerful story, but I can share that from approximately 29 to 31 years old I was experiencing a lot of financial challenges, I was self employed but then I couldn't work anymore. had no income. lived alone. was fearful about how I was going to make it. A lot of fear and struggling

I mean it was one thing after another. I'm strong and I think I can take a punch, but I felt that I was really being beat up on. Nothing I felt was going my way.

There were times I felt something else was at work, but I was in turmoil and just wanted everything to stop being hard. Anyhow, I ended up have a consultation with an reiki master/astrologer. What did I find out from her? That I was going through what is known as 'Saturn Returns'.

Of course I'm finding this out almost at the end of the cycle. I think two years had gone by. Saturn returns lasts approx 2 1/2 years.

I did feel a sense of relief that I was at the tail end of this. Finding this out also let me know that hey, it's not me and I'm not crazy. that was a bit of a relief. I still had struggling and pain, but knowing that I was coming to the end and telling myself that I just had to hang on helped me cope better. It was a cosmic rite of passage. whew? I'm glad I made it. LOL!!!

Anyhow, that's my story. I'm an Aquarius with a Scorp rising.

peace

That was an excellent story. As I was reading your story, I was thinking "Saturn" Then finally, you mentioned "Saturn Return"

Saturn restricts, depresses, punishes and also Rewards, only if you been doing right of course. Doing right means learning from your past mistakes. Saturn is the planet of history, which is symbolic to the past. Saturn is also the Father, while the Moon is considered to be the Mother. Saturn is a srict disciplinarian and he returns to check up on us from where he was, when we were first born, that is referred to as a "Saturn Return." After we are born, Saturn moves on to prepare our upcoming houses for us. That way when we get to those houses, we will have all that we need because Saturn has made sure of that. However, If we don't do right by what Saturn has given us, and has taught us, he will punish us, and take back, strip us, so that we can start all over again. Had you known about Satrun before it returned back to it's natal position in your natal chart, you could have prepared yourself ahead of time. After transiting Saturn leaves from the natal position of your chart, you want to start watching how Saturn is going to be in the upcoming house, of your chart. Would you like to revisit your natal chart? I am curious to know the natal position of your Saturn.

Astrologer4U

My natal position of Saturn is the first house...Yikes. The first house represents self. In many ways, I am very fearful of a lot of things because Saturn is a planet that does not sugar coat anything, it gives everything to you real. Saturn is nto really a dreamy planet or a sweet and nice planet but it has many positive qualities that you will only learn once Saturn has stripped you and left you bare and vulnerable. I can't wait to hear back from you.

you're right. I actually had an astrology book at home that talked about Saturn Returns, but I wasn't thinking about trying to use astrology to forecast for troubling times. As soon as the astrologer told me about what was happening I went home and read up on it.

My Saturn is actually in Taurus in the seventh house.

@GODFATHA

Your Sun sign is Pisces and your Moon sign is Virgo...Below is a combination reading for the two.

Pisces/Virgo
The combination of your Sun sign and your Moon sign produces a personality blending emotional sensitivity and intuitive understanding with the Virgo traits of discrimination, intellectuality and practicability. You are at your best in mental analysis, constructive criticism and common sense decisions. Your discriminating mind tends to exert a stabilizing influence on emotional sensitivity. There is a working together of the intuitive and practical. You can make your intuitions, feelings and impressions about things useful in practical affairs. You have a deep sense of the truth and an ability to face facts. This is a combination that depends heavily on discrimination and analytical insights into affairs; you are naturally versatile, flexible and highly adaptable, but you have the innate ability to keep your mind on whatever you are doing. While you may have serious intent and considerable ambition, you don't seem to take yourself too seriously. You do best in professions that don't demand much in the way of exercising authority. Efficiency and precision are the keynotes of your nature and of your mind. You have little difficulty guiding your activity to avoid mistakes and unnecessary errors. Particular and somewhat fastidious, you show good taste in dress as well as in your choice of words. Happiness depends on maintaining balance between the emotional and mental sides of your nature, avoiding the tendency to alternate between sympathy and coolness of response. You do good things quietly and with little fuss, stressing conscientiousness and a subdued conviction. You live sanely and calmly, achieving success through the exercise of intelligence.
You rising sign is Capricorn, this is the first thing people see when they meet you...Capricorn.

Capricorn Rising
There's a seriousness to Capricorn rising people that is unmistakable. Even when they're joking around, it's of the deadpan variety. In fact, plenty of very humorous people have Capricorn Ascendants. It's all in the timing...and the fact that they don't giggle before the joke is over.
Capricorn Ascendant people project competence. They simply ooze it. They're generally very image-conscious people--the clothes they wear and their manner are a big deal to them. They want to appear successful, and they generally succeed!

Often the Ascendant persona is the one that was forced upon us by family conditioning. For example, parents may label their Libra Ascendant child the "nice" one; their Aries Ascendant child the "independent" one; and their Pisces Ascendant child is generally the space cadet of the family. We adopt these roles as familiar ones, and often carry them with us as our defense mechanisms, in some way or another, for the rest of our lives. In the case of Capricorn Ascendants, these were the children who were considered the responsible ones. Sometimes, it was they themselves who looked around them and felt the need to be the structured, dependable, and responsible members of the family. So, often, Capricorn rising people adopted a strong sense of tradition, family, and responsibility at a very young age.

Capricorn rising people are generally big on family, and forever worry about security--for themselves and their dependents. They come across to others as hard-working, competent, and dependable people. What others may not see under that cool, even suave, exterior, is an inner struggle: they often ask themselves, "Am I doing enough?", "Do I deserve all of this?", "How can I make things better?" They worry a lot about the future.
If success seemed to have come easy to these folks, it hasn't. They just made it look that way with a patient, hard-working, driven personality. Some Capricorn rising people practice some form of self-denial. They know how to do away with the frivolous. Still, they'll spend money on the clothes they really want (the ones with the right labels, that is), and other status symbols. Although they're rarely showy, their quiet air of success is often a result of conscious effort.

More often than not, Capricorn rising individuals are success stories. Their childhoods may have been difficult, but they slowly but surely turn their lives around. Saturn rules this Ascendant, and this generally means a kind of backwards way of living--as children, they are serious and bear a lot of responsibility; and as they grow up, they age beautifully, learning how to loosen up.

Your Mars is in Aquarius
It can be a little difficult to understand exactly what makes a Mars in Aquarius native tick. And that's absolutely fine with them—they enjoy surprising people. The tried-and-true methods of getting things done are far too boring for those born with Mars in this unique and original sign. Mars in Aquarius natives often have a rather original view of the world as well.

These natives are generally quite proud of their independence. They are not easily pushed around with Mars in this fixed sign. Because Aquarius is progressive and open-minded when it comes to the world at large, it can be surprising that on a personal level, Mars in Aquarius natives can be quite obstinate. If they feel boxed in, they are quite likely to rebel. If you've discovered a pattern to their ways, they'll make sure they aren't so predictable the next time around. Being seen as "normal" simply won't do!
With Mars, the planet of energy and drive, in an Air sign, these individuals get off on mental and intellectual pursuits. Aquarius is a somewhat scattered sign, even though it's persevering in the long haul. If there's a method to their madness, it isn't always easy to see. Projects are taken on with a shotgun-style approach with this position of Mars.

Mars in Air signs are generally quite clever at getting what they want; in Aquarius, they are particularly adept at getting their way. While this is not an overtly aggressive position of Mars (Aquarius has a manner that is far too detached to come across too forcefully), it is very willful. Combine willfulness with the cleverness of an Air sign, and you have a person who is quite creative about getting what they want—which generally is getting their way! Unlike with Mars in Aries or Leo natives, for example, you won't always know you're being dominated by a Mars in Aquarius native!
One of the most pleasant characteristics of Mars in Aquarius natives is their willingness to let others be. They place a lot of value in freedom and individuality—theirs and yours. They need space to be themselves and plenty of room to breathe. Generally not the touchy-feely types, these natives often laugh at sentimentality and tradition. In personal relationships, their approach to intimacy is definitely on the detached side, which can be baffling and frustrating to more personal and affectionate personalities.

Of all the personal planets in the sign of Aquarius, Mars placed here can show the strongest "reformer" streak. The Aquarian ideal of equality works big time with this position, and the desire to push their agenda on others (usually in creative, rather than aggressive, ways) runs high. Obstinacy and a superiority complex are this position's least desirable traits; openness to new ways of doing things (as long as they're not forced upon them) is where they shine.
You have Venus in Aries With Venus in Aries, you have an assertive self-expression in romantic situations. Venus in Aries is a demonstrative position, and produces tendencies for you to seek excitement in your love life. Cheerful and positive, you package yourself well. As one who is outgoing and full of enthusiasm, you're great in social situations. You are fun and exciting, and to more timid souls, a bit overwhelming. Outgoing, affectionate, and sometimes flirtatious, you become competitive in seeking the affections of others. Romance is living for you. Romantic involvement is like a competition to be won, and you are not a particularly good loser. When you love life is not going well, you are irritable and very moody. Easily aroused, you have an instinct for romantic challenge and conquest. You are direct and aggressive in love endeavors. In attracting a lover, you are direct and full of adventure and enthusiasm. You have a dangerous tendency to fall in love at first sight, or at least quicker than most people. Yet, you can be somewhat impulsive and unstable where long term romance is concerned. The romantic nature is impatient and careless sometimes. You don't take enough time to make long range plans or for truly needed practical considerations. Not surprisingly, early marriages are common with Venus in Aries. Sometimes, you may not have a deep understanding of other people's feelings.

Your Mercury is in Pisces Mercury in Pisces are gentle communicators with a soft touch that is pleasing and warm. Some of them come across in an almost poetic way. Not given to bother too much with details, these individuals tend to sponge up the feelings and moods of their environment. The information they extract from their surroundings can be unusual and certainly unique. For some, it is heavily skewed in the direction of emotion and feeling.
They're generally lovely listeners and, when you get them talking, warm conversationalists. When it comes to communicating, they're moody, and this extends to their letters and emails too. It's a kind of odd thing -- you never know when they'll be in a quiet mood or a yakking state. These individuals don't compete for air time, but they can talk up a storm when they're in the right frame of mind. Predicting when that will be can be difficult, though. Mercury in Pisces is tactful because they don't want to offend others in any way. They feel out their audience and sometimes search for what they think others want to hear. Yes, Mercury in Pisces can fib. It's not that they are malicious--they simply want others to be comfortable.

These people come across as dreamy and indirect. It can be hard to pin them down to any one belief or decision. It's not that they want to drive you crazy or anything--it's just that Mercury in Pisces takes in so much information from the world and their open-mindedness prevents them from taking a stance for too long. They have an unusual aversion to cold facts and hard decisions. Driven more by intuition than facts, these people avoid list-making and the like. Others might think them disorganized but they have an uncanny knack of finding things nonetheless. There is a tendency to avoid detail work or tying up loose ends, not to mention the mind drifting off to Never-Never Land.

Mercury in Pisces is tuned in to all the nuances of subjects and environments. They pick up on subtleties of all kinds, so what they lack in organization they make up for with insight. When the Sun Sign is Aries, much of the brashness and directness of Aries is considerably toned down with Mercury in Pisces. Aquarius Sun people with this position are artistic and humane. Mercury in Pisces people are often vague and indirect in their communications with others. If they learn to express themselves with more clarity, they'll find that a lot of the problems they can encounter with misunderstandings will lessen. Their impressionable nature can make them an easy target at times. Their plans may seem too dreamy and unrealistic to more practical sorts, lacking the details that make them seem more attainable. But Mercury in Pisces' vision is extraordinary, and their leaps of faith are admirable.
Favorite expression: "I believe..."

You have Saturn in Leo Saturn in Leo gives you a serious personal need to achieve recognition. You don't want to play second fiddle to anyone; simply stated, you want to be the boss. Yet it is so hard for you to express the creative talent that you know you have inside you. You may have unreasonably high expectations for yourself and for those around you. As a parent, you want to be the disciplinarian. Your children may seem a burden to you, and indeed they may be. Because you are rather stern in your dealing, you can have some difficulties in your personal relationships with your children, as well as your mate. Try not to be too hard on those you lead or those you live with. This placement often shows a limited sense of humor, and a demeanor that is very reserved and cautious. Leo is the sign of ultimate self-esteem, and Saturn is the planet that tears down this quality. Don't let your self-image suffer needlessly. You have Jupiter in Taurus This placement of Jupiter indicates a stable and beneficial use of money and resources. You feel that the accumulation of wealth is important to provide the high standard of living that you so desire. You have an appetite for the best of everything, especially food; you have gourmet tastes, and the finest of luxurious surroundings your means can afford. Since you can usually attract the assets you need, you tend to live quite well. In business, you are steady and patient. You can see things on a large scale and bring them to fruition. A little on the stubborn side, you don't like being pushed or directed. You are very conservative and orthodox in most of your views.

Please don't forget to post your comments. What the reading does for you, if you agree with it or not and how knowing about oneself, can contribute to ending self hate.

Would you use a clock to prepare for not being late? Would you use your calendar to make sure you do what you have to do on the right day?

hahaha, you get my point I am sure, but I had to put that out there for those who don't understand.

If your Saturn is in the 7th of Taurus, that should make your rising sign Scorpio, that is of course, if there are no interceptions.

Now, because Saturn is at your 7th house, that means that whenever your Saturn returns, it will return to the 7th house. The 7th house is the house of partnerships. If you say that you had been experiencing financial problems during that Saturn return you first posted about, tell me this, were you in some kind of partnership with others? You say you were self employed so you must have been partners with those for whom your self employed business catered to. Was there jelousy involved? Were there people who were trying to restrict you and not allow you to move forward hence, this all affected your finances? Taurus is the ruler of the second house of finances and you have it on your 7th of partnerships. The second house is the house of finances so by the time Saturn got to your 7th house, it had already passed up your finance house. What this all tells me is, before Saturn returned to your 7th, you were already slightly having the finance problems. By the time Saturn got to your 7th, things really got bad because who ever you were in partnerships with was trying to restrict you some how. This all may not be correct of course because it all depends on your other aspects as well.

It is interesting that your Saturn falls into your 7th, mines falls into my 1st. The 1st house is opposite the 7th house. When Saturn returns in my chart, it returns right to the first house of the chart. I prepared for my last one and I breezed right through having issue with finances. Right now transitting Saturn is in my 4th house and I am also self employed so Saturn is affecting my home, because the 4th rules home and Saturn is also affecting my work as well, because I work at home. Not to mention, Transitting Saturn is opposing transitting Uranus the planet of upheaval. I will get through this though.

I wouldn't say jealousy. Just the -isms. racisim, favoritism. It's feast or famine but the famine times have been coming way too often with not a lot of feasting.

Astrologer4U I was on one of my astrology sites, read this and thought of you so I copied it.

Applying Saturn Opposite Uranus
This transit emphasizes inequalities in society, the conflicts between the “haves” and the “have-nots.” This may also be a time of severe socio-economic stress and even financial recession. Changes of rule and authority in many fields leave people feeling unstable and insecure. It is a time of frustration, accidents, rigid resistance to change, and attacks on authorities.

just wanted to share.
