Self Publishing?

I am sure most of y'all have heard about this site (I am always the last to find out something ) But...I thought I would post it anyway. You can post your writings here and people can buy your work. I would only use this if it were copy written, though.

I thought on this for my series of Children's books and my poetry, but I must pursue the extra funding to do this, my youngest daughter's boyfriend spends time at my house ( I am old school with the courting thing) and he eats at my house cuz' my wife and I can cook our brown booties off! So this boy eats up my extra money! But yes, this is a good sight I wish I could self-publish cheaper! I have sent my work out to agents none have responded thus far! So self-publishing may be the route for me!

You know me and you know I know about them,

You better copyright ALL OF YOUR WORK PERIOD before you do anything with any type of company like this.

I don't know the quality of their work, and if you start selling through them how much EXACTLY they take per sale........they say one thing but they usually add more fee's as they go.

So I might and you should call them get with an agent and talk numbers with every one before you give up your work.

Oh even if you don't have the bread at the moment to copyright your work make sure you at least right that it is copyrighted and put you name at the bottom of your work.

Yeah, you are right. I remember I made a little piece of art and put it up on deviant art...It was swiped and there wasn't a thing I could do about it.

There is so much talent in our communities and I wish there were a way we could get the word out without it costing us so much Imagine how many things we could learn if only we had a way to get our knowledge to each other.


PS- Maybe with all that good food yall got over there, you could sell a few plates and put it in a publishing fund Its a thought.

Any more??? Id hope to see more than that.... I plan on collaborating with some people in Queens and Broooklyn, NY on African History centered story books for the youth, probably all ageas. Ill be handling the most illustrations.
