The reason why i wrote that the scope of the survey needs to be broadened is because when we study the history of Afrikan struggle in the United Snakkkes (at the time of Bros. Huey and Bobby), they weren't even the original Black Panther Party for Self Defense. History will bear this out, if only we would take some time and do some research.

Whether or not Bro. Malik Zulu Shabazz is a media hound is irrelevant (and counter productive). Who cares??? Whether or not Bro. David Hilliard, Bro. Huey and Bro. Bobby sold out is also irrelevant. Who cares??? The more important lesson(s) is/are what can we learn from them??? What can we use from their experiences, and if they have sold out, how can we use those examples to help us NOT make the same mistakes again??? Sell-outs or not, they cared about Afrikan people and wanted to contribute to the great struggle that many of us have embraced (three decades later).

We should be more concerned and focused on not committing the same mistakes as those brothers and sisters, than with which one of them sold out, which one was on crack, which one was a womanizer and a woman-beater, or any of that mess. Our issues are greater than that, our cause more noble than to wallow and roll around in filth and garbage.

Greetings Family,

I must admit this kind of thing continues to plague those of us who are supposed to be the brightest and the strongest. "History is a subject that best rewards our research" Malcom X.... This is really very dissapointing its like we dont remember the things we witnessed or read. it seems having the knowledge just does not protect us from that deep embedded trauma we suffered here in Babylon.

I think that both of these organizations could have handled things alot better in communicating with each other, and that they should work together, put pride aside and work together, that is the goal isn't it. They both have the same intentions. I agree yes we have to pay our elders more respect, because no matter what they are doing now we can't take a way what they have done for us, but we got to stop letting the same issues ruin our ability to liberate our people. we studied this for years we should not be making these petty mistakes over and over again. Hell we don't need Cointlepro any more, we are too worried about whose idielogy is wrong or right to get the job done.

I can't knock the NBPP, because they have been on top of the game in helping our people. They went into New Orleans and got our people. They worked with other organizations secured buses and got our people. They didnt wait on anybody or ask any quetions,or sit around and talk they moved out. And frankly thats what I see from them without much they try and get the job done. as for many here delaing with all that is happened you have everybody working together cause thats what its gonna take.

I Did some work with the NBPP and the love and support I felt from them brought about a new sense of pride in myself and my people. This was a time when I was down and out of luck and they nurtured me and showed me that theirs more to life than being accepted by what society standards are. Therefore I will continously supportand ride with whatever Malik Shabazz and the Panthers indulge in.

If the the elders are that bent out of shape about "the new party", out of respect they should just come up with something else to call themselves and keep rolling.....it would cut the arugment off at the knees and they would avoid all the debate and confusion....... But there were a whole bunch of Panther groups back in the day, the one we know bout was just the one that got reconized da most but the name was pretty popular. The New Panthers give props to the Original anyway

That statement is an oxymoron. OG's are gangsta's not freedom fighters.
Hypothetical talk is what our ancestors called "cheap talk". What Bobby is doin 2day discredits him when my warrior in training daughter ask me "daddy what are they doin' nowaday's". What am I to tell her? I dont sugar coat it to make her feel good or make them look good. Thats their responsibility. I tell her "baby the enemy whipped they asses so that they capitulated (ceased to resist) or sold the fukk out for better choice of words. We must leave the romanticism out of the struggle and implement village justice whenever necessary and whoever it applies to.
