KRADIN (Akan), Yoruba & Vodun Naming

Two of our youngest and imo learned in Afrikan languages - especially Bantu - are very very busy now. They're akyeame_kwame or AK as we call'im and Asafo37 - both into the Akan ways, primarily, and are active members here.

SO, again I'll offer to COPY a KRADIN (soul or day name) derived from the day u were born. Its done ritually in West Afrikan societies I've read about. Send to me your exact date, month & year of birth; I'll send u a kradin. Beyond this, I'd consult an Akan, Yoruba or Vodun Priest or Priestress. We're fortunate to have at least one of each here active: Ifasehun (Yoruba) and the Vodun brutha, Fawesagu Awotunde Yao Fa reachable at http://www.newafrikanvodun.com/iwalkeri.html He's here in Atlanta, actually Stone Mtn.

In fact I urge u to contact either of them first then, if need be, I can send u a Kradin.

Thanks
Baba Ahmed

EDIT: Keep in mind when considering to discard a family name that to research one's lineage is popular now and maybe for quite awhile. Think about added difficulties when a family name is discarded. However technically the name on your birth certificate remains recorded as your first given and family name. And then there's a nasty habit white enslavers used to do. Every "owned" enslaved person would be given the top man's last name! That happened in my bio father's name. The originally named krakkka "owned" at one time 10,000 named after his dirty ass. Just something to think about. Bleeve me as an inexperienced and unlearned researcher its a whachamacallit to run into a deaden end!

BlackAsIam is on a distinguished road
It's is known that a word or statement is only as powerful as one makes it. I think by changing the surname slavemasters still maintain mental control over those who let it bother them.

My court date is next month, can't wait. The process went faster than I anticipated. I changed my surname and middle. All Afrikan in origin.

My Akan soul name is Akosiwa, which means sun child. However, it still does not strike me. I have thought about changing my name many times. As for last names, I do not have so much as a clue what I would like that to be. Perhaps if I do family research, a name will come to me.

I basically went on a search of names with my father initials in mind (I was given his name so in changing mine I wanted to at least keep the same letters)

So when I found 3 names that spoke to me for 3 reasons it was destiny.
