I remember there was a community meeting held at a church where the Rev. Al Sharpton came down and spoke on the Marquise Hudspeth case in 2003. The aftermath of the shooting triggered ugly politics. The white people kicked off their own "Back The Badge" campaign supporting the police. Sadly, there wasn't much of a good outcome for Marquise. Only one of the cops who shot him was fired from the force and was never put on trial.
