Greetings Family,
As you have noticed Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa and Cop Chief Bratton have unveiled a suppression plan to supposedly stomp out gang violence. However, we know from history that the only result will be MORE Afrikans in modern slavery (prison).
Thankfully, some youth from some of the most violent communities in LA have come together and created an organization called Project Better Days. Their aim is to organize their peers from the block into the movement.
On Wednesday, February 21st, 6 pm at Community Coalition (at 8101 S. Vermont near Manchester/Vermont) these youth will be hosting the premier of a film they wrote, acted-in and made about gang life in LA. At the end they will be presenting their ORGANIZING CAMPAIGN.
We hope to see all of you there and bring any and all youth.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact James, Josh or Koyaki at 323-750-9087.
Project Better Days Mission Statement:
To improve the quality of life for youth who are highly influenced by gangs through providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to organize around social justice issues
