I and 20 parents of Yodit Elementary submitted a Uniform Complaint (Form 1700-02) to San Diego Unified School District on November 08, 2007. The following looks like this: ISSUE OF COMPLAINT (Indicate by checking appropriate box(es): 1. Insufficiency of instructional materials 2. Facility posing emergency or urgent threat 3. Teacher vacancy or misassignment (check) (Please provide a detailed description of the issue(s) identified. Attach additional sheets, if necessary). Due to the grouping practices outlined in the District Guideline A3500 which assigns classes of the total population by grade level class, or course. We, the Parent and students of Yodit Elementary are indicating that "due" to the Teacher/student ratio and to "avoid" the harmful effects of "racial isolation" notated in "District Guidelines (F-2855 section C) that we must have the "immediate" participation of the Board of Education in "enrolling" Yodit Elementary as a "Academic Enrichment Academy " District guidelines (F-2850 ) due to a 20% or less stipulated white student enrollment, which makes Yodit elementary eligible, and devoted to immediate integration, not segregation. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>update<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< <<<<<<<< From: Shirley Wilson RE: UNIFORM COMPLAINT (FORM 1700-02) TEACHER VACANCY OR MISSASSIGNMENT Rashida Collier who teaches k-2 and Bridget Flowers who teaches grades 3thru 6 are both qualified to provide instruction, uses the instructional materials effectively, and works to the California Grade Level Standards. Hence, per the teacher education credentials program, Rashida C. and Bridget F. are qualified to teach grades Kindergarten through grade 6 at the Oak Park School-Yodit Program. This is what Discrimination looks like for anyone "new" to racism. For those not "new" the Principal is "Black" :blackicon |

We are the "First" District sponsered African Center school of Instruction. The segregation model here uses Affirmative action and is intended to promote access to our elementary with the prime motifator being reverse discrimination. Motivation for affirmative action policies is to redress the effects of past and current wrongful discrimination and to encourage public institutions such as as our Board of Education, to be representative of the population **(which is at our school are a greater part African American; 100%). Our request is to achieve through this specific "District" targeted recruitment program('s),(known as **the "Academic Enrichment Academy" request) a bridge which would bring students to our school which would increase our teachers to capacity. Thus, paving the way GOD willing for "curriculum" and programs intended culturally for our children, and for multicultural "representation". |
