SBA: The Reawakening of the African Mind / By Dr. Asa G. Hilliard, III

"SBA: The Reawakening of the African Mind is a key. It is a roadmap. It is a call to destiny…. With SBA: The Reawakening of the African Mind, Dr. Hilliard…helps us to comprehend why education is so critical to African liberation and advancement. Within his opening thoughts, Asa inextricably links the mind (spirit), with culture and education. He notes that to reawaken the African mind, one must ensure that the goal of education, and the... ACTION ALERT PROPER

African people are not empty vessels. We are not new to the study of and practice of education and socialization that is rooted in deep thought. We will not accept a dependent status in the approach and solution to our problems.

Black Education
A Transformative Research
and Action Agenda for the New Century
Edited by Joyce E. King

PLAN OF ACTION:

Build the most formidable Afrikan socialization and education network of websites on the net.

As many may be aware, over the past three years I, under the pseudonym of RBG Street Scholar, have been working with full intensity planning, designing, developing, writing and implementing the first bonified, un-bossed and un-bought center of higher learning for the New Afrikan mass. Many of you have been watching the development and some have even contributed; asante sana to all. Presently we are using all of the most cutting edge Web 2.0 tools to facilitate our revolutionary academic activities and have RLOs (Reusable Learning Objects) and media assets all over the net. Blogs, Zines, Wikis, Social Network pages, Vlogs and the like-we have made our mark in all these domains with informed militancy and razor sharp intelligence. We have mastered the art and science of entertaining education in a grand fashion. Thus, this Communiversity/ Think Tank/College triumvirate called RBG Street scholars Think Tank is surpassed by none and dwarfs most when it comes to Black Studies, as we wed academics with socio-political activism and yet strike a responsive cord with the masses of our people. What is most, we have been working with a budget of zero. But make no mistake about it as soon as we get some "cheese" we go from click to brick like ONA MOVE.

We officially launched the school in Black August 2006. And Black August 2007 has been bitter sweat, as one of our foremost leader and teachers in this educational endeavor, Dr. Asa Hilliard III/ Amankwatia Baffour II, has join the Ancestors. So we were more than please to complete and launch RBG Worldwide 1 Nation in dedication to the greatness and teachings of our elders and ancestors. Our very own Socialization and Education Network. Designed, administered and owned by RBG Street Scholars Think Tank.

PURPOSE OF ACTION:

To implement, solidify and maintain our own pedagogy that facilitates our defending, defining and developing in our own image and interest.

GOAL:

100 complete and active websites by September end.

There are a remarkable number of benefits to the New Afrikan (Black Nationalist, Pan-Afrikanist) Liberation Movement involved that I will be explaining in some detail as we move forward. For now I will just tell you that if we are successful in our goal we will reflect a conscious unified presence on the web that heretofore has been unheard of; a pre-requisite to our making further inroads.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO NOW:

1. Register to the RBG Worldwide 1 Nation Network and start building your page with serious intent and detail.

We suggest using the Main page and RBGStreetScholars page as idea stimulators. Below I have also included some extracts from the main page to assist in the generation of ideas. Images, videos and blogs that you post will be reflected on your website/classroom as well as the Main page and your Profile image/links will be ever present throughout the network and in web search engines under RBG Worldwide 1 Nation based on how much work you put in. Every time you contribute your profile image comes to the top of the main page. These factors all drive more traffic to you site.

2.Use the network tools to invite friends/comrades. Play each one teach one.

3.Message me on the network with tech questions.

I will be sending out bulletins to the network weekly with tips as i see the need.

4. Attend or catch the archived show/training i will announce over at BlogTalk Radio

5. Remember, this is in honor and respect to the Elders and Ancestors.

The Evolution of a Revolution:
"From Jim Crow to Civil Rights to Black Liberation ?"

From Jim Crow to Civil Rights The 1950s was a very politically unstable time for Afrikan in American. Our rights were constantly under attack. All the efforts made during the Forties to integrate the Armed Forces were abolished during the Korean War. A new era of racist assassinations began to occur and we as a people started to take a stand against the system and business of white supremacy and its blatant racism. The NAACP argued cases in Southern states against the discriminatory... Read Full Story
