Candlelight Vigil in memory of Nicholas Naquan Heyward Jr October 22 Coalition to Stop Police Brutality - New York Date: Sunday, September 27, 2009 Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm Location: Corner of Baltic Street and Hoyt Street (Look for the mural of Nicholas, Jr) Street: Baltic Street and Hoyt Street City/Town: Brooklyn, NY Phone: 718-855-3861 Email: hspirit13@aol.com Description: Nicholas Naquan Heyward, Jr. was 13 years old when a housing police officer shot and killed him for playing cops and robbers in a stairwell in Gowanus Houses. The policeman who killed him was exonerated by the District Attorney and never faced any charges. This vigil will mark the date young Nicholas lost his life 15 years ago.
