Funny thang is how we come in all shapes, colors & sizes 1 moment then next thang we all got "Nappy Heads, Big Boned Lipped, Nosed, etc..."? On real I ain't never ever had a "coo-coo bug nap" in my head,my whole life & think I would really get a girl if I had a head full a "coo-coo bugs"? So I aint' Afrikan cuz I had a curl, Flat-Top, Fade, Bald, etc...?
How come yo opessor ain't imitatin US???? Can't we see that being played out?!!! Why we gotta bite all the time & not noone else? Cuz these YT's & Messcans be gettin fades lookin like us, like it ain't nuffin & in a while they go be sayin they started fades & stuff like they like to mention that shatt bout hip-hop!! We must ReClaim our shattt all of it, from a Weave to a Nose Ring. Besides is not wearin a weave go make u free all of a sudden? Made us enslaved when we "was weaveless"!!!!!! Remember these r ppl who ain't even know how to grow food let alone make hair weaves they practiced "polyandry" & didn't take baths. So I seriously doubt they made "hair weaves". If u wanna speak on geeks or Ro(w)omans they really jacked r style like crazy so I see no real evidence as to why YT gets o much created into inventions is my angle..........

The image in your sig of Kemetic women features an ancient pic of weaves galore. Afrikan DID wear wigs and weaves. they just didnt use hair harvested from prostitutes, poor mothers and domestic abuse victims from third world countries

While I do think your statement about the variety of our physical presentation is true, I think the main point here is that those particular sistas in the wedding pic are trying to imitate a Western standard/aesthetic- or maybe even the mainstream Afrikans in America aesthetic, cause many sistas on the continent look to the Afrikans in the U.S. to see what they doing and then copy! We need to promote a self-centered standard of beauty (in hair dress and action).

No problem Brother! The hair thing is just indicative of the mind set our people still have......even in the Motherland! Last week I was watching a documentary on cultural traditions in certain parts of West Africa, and sure nuff, the women were dressed beautifully in their traditional outfits etc, but I could not find one woman with her natural hair!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have ran into a few brothers who appreciate an Afrikan woman who is natural all over, no make up, no weave, no faking it.

I really appreciate these brothers who do.

The outfits are indeed awesome, and I would love to have them.

All that was shown that was not eurocentric I enjoyed. Going to church to prepare for the ceremony, I am not for.
