Black Love Family, I would like to get your thoughts on something that has recently troubled me.
I have been doing alot of indept reseach on Bobby Rush(Cong.Ill.) recently.
This was sparked because (this is going to sound crazy) all this time through out all the BPP information I've read and
all of the past footage I've seen. I never connected the fact that Bobby Rush Ill. BPP, was Bobby Rush Ill. Cong.
Coincidentally It hit me like a 1 2 punch. One day I read the Post about the POCC brother who was accused of attacking "Bobby Rush" Congress man, former BPP. Then the very next day I just happened to rewatch Dr. Khalids "Last Message" and he made mention of "Bobby Rush" former BPP, who is now a member of the CBC, and Khalid talked about how he voted YEA(against Assata) to a bill, to call for Cuba to have Assata extradited back to the U.Snakkes. After making this connection that the Bobby Rush I read references of and saw footage of and the Congess man guy was 1 in the same I immediately researched him. What I stumbled apon briefly confused/disturbed me. What I found was that Bobby Rush didnt vote against her, he didn't vote at all(which to me is just like voting against her,especially since he was a former Panther, he if anyone of those Negroes should have supported her) what I found that was even BIGGER THAN THAT was that Cynthia Mckinney, who I know many of us love and respect voted YEA(AGAINST ASSATA) to the bill (H.Con.Res.254). I have respected Sis. Mckinneys work, but that is BIG. I'm GOING TO DO MORE RESEARCH.BUT if she did that without a sound EXPLAINATION, I DEFINETLY DO NOT SUPPORT HER ANYMORE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW EVERYONE ELSES THOUGHTS INFO. OPINIONS ETC.. ON THIS MATTER

Uhuru African most of the Black Caucus voted YEA. I know that Cynitha McKinney and Maxine Walters (of CA) and others didn't know who Assata Shakur was when they voted because the bill use Assata Shakur gov. name Joannie Chersimard once they made the connection they were against what they vote YEA for.

i can't speak for Cynthia McKinney in this case (altho i definitely encourage support for all her revolutionary work), but i definitely know that Maxine Waters saying she didn't know who Joanne Chesimard was is a CROCK.

Another question is, what could have possibly been the justification for any or all of them who claimed this ignorance to vote (or decline to do so) when it came to extraditing ANY person who has received asylum in Cuba?

For Waters part, she was pressured to make a statement denouncing that bill after she had been "awakened" to the fact that this bill was about Assata, however she did not make this statement publicly here, but instead sent a letter of apology to Castro.

i don't know if McKinney has ever addressed this issue, but i definitely think she should be given that opportunity, based on her record in support of PP/POW's. Bobby Rush is light years away from his former BPP self, unfortunately, and has been for some time.
