Lightbulb African- centered education

African- centered education

Why don't our young people know anything about our great heritage? It could be a number of things, such as no African influences at home, today's "entertainment" corrupting their minds, when they should be at the library or an after-school program. We need more African-centered educational programs in schools. Of course,home-schooling our children would be just as good as placing them in public or private schools, but, they don't have the curriculum to teach African education. Our children must know where they come from, know about our great leaders, our powerful, beautiful culture,so they will not enter this world believing they owe the white man anything. They only owe it to themselves to be knowledgeable and proud of their heritage. Our children are our future, and we need to teach them how to survive, not just physically, but psychologically.

It’s quite natural for young people to be oblivious about our heritage. Living in amerikkka can do that to you. For example, when people come under the economic, political and social domination of another people. You’re limited to your history and cultural heritage.

But you’re right it’s important for young people to hold on their racial pride and heritage because to me that’s a last resource for survival as a people.
