Talking The Celebration of Natural Hair & Family

      0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
In my weekend to Richmond to visit my father & to attend Happily Natural Day, I realized I was celebrating two beautiful occasions...the immortal love of family, and the beautiful freedom of natural hair. It is a sad reality that Black families are not united as they should be. It is a sad reality that we,as a culture,do not celebrate naturalness as it was created to be. We should be united in naturalness & family, for they are two priceless & precious aspects of our lives. We should not unite for only special occasions,we should be united everyday of our lives. Unity is the key to freedom.
All of us may not live to see the higher accomplishment of an African Empire—so strong and powerful, as to compel the respect of mankind, but we in our life-time can so work and act as to make the dream a possibility within another generation.-Marcus Garvey

I heard about the Happily Natural Day event! How was it?

Yes it is a sad reality, the state of our families as a collective group. I work hard as a result to make sure both of my sons remain connected to their fathers and that side of the family.

The insanity has to stop at some point.

It was a Blacknificent event, seeing so many brothers, sisters and children in their naturalness was beyond beautiful. But,at the same time it was a bit sad, because we unite on special occasions, but cannot stay united everyday.

It is true that money is the root of all evil. Greed corrupts the soul and morals of people. Your family should have been more concerned with the wishes of your grandmother. Even in death, elders should still be respected.
