Do you know that the six folks only have 600K bail between the six of them?! Pictures of the yt'es: ![]() The photos provided by the West Virginia Regional Jail and Correctional Facility Authority shows 6 people who were arrested for holding a Charleston woman captive in a Big Creek home for at least a week, Sept. 9, 2007, in Logan, W.Va. The FBI is investigating whether the beating and sexual assault of this woman was a hate crime. From top left, Bobby Brewster, Karen Burton, George Messer, Danny Combs, Frankie Brewster, and Alisha Burton. (West Virginia Regional Jail) 6 Arrested in Weeklong Attack on Woman 6 in W.Va. Charged With Beating, Sexually Assaulting Woman Held Captive in House for a Week The Associated Press LOGAN, W.Va. A woman was sexually abused, beaten and humiliated while being held captive in a home for at least a week, sheriff's officials said Monday after making six arrests. Those arrested, including a mother and son and a mother and daughter, are white. The victim, a Charleston woman who was being treated at a hospital Monday, is black. The FBI plans to investigate it as a possible hate crime. "The things that were done to this woman are just indescribable," Logan County sheriff's Sgt. Sonya Porter said. Deputies found the 23-year-old victim Saturday after going to the home in Big Creek, about 35 miles southwest of Charleston, to investigate an anonymous tip. One of the suspects, Frankie Brewster, was sitting on the front porch and told deputies she was alone, but moments later the victim limped toward the door, her arms outstretched, saying, "Help me," the sheriff's department said in a news release. Besides being sexually assaulted, the victim had been stabbed four times in the left leg and beaten, Porter said. Both of her eyes were black and blue. The woman's wounds were inflicted at least a week ago, deputies said. During her capture, the victim was forced to eat rat and dog feces and drink from the toilet, according to the criminal complaint filed in magistrate court. The woman also had been choked with a cable cord and her hair cut, it alleges. One of those arrested, Karen Burton, is accused of cutting the woman's ankle with a knife. She used the N-word in telling the woman she was victimized because she is black, according to the criminal complaint. Deputies say the woman was also doused with hot water while being sexually assaulted. The Associated Press generally does not identify suspected victims of sexual assault. The sheriff's department requested the FBI's participation, said agent Jay Bartholomew. The six suspects were arrested Saturday and Sunday. Deputies were still trying to determine whether the victim knew her assailants and how she came to be at Brewster's home, Porter said. Frankie Brewster, 49, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and giving false information during a felony investigation. Her son, Bobby R. Brewster, 24, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony. Burton, 46, of Chapmanville, is charged with malicious wounding, battery and assault during the commission of a felony. Her daughter Alisha Burton, 23, of Chapmanville, and George A. Messer, 27, of Chapmanville, are charged with assault during the commission of a felony and battery. Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, is charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding. All six were held Monday in lieu of $100,000 bond each, and all have asked for court-appointed public defenders. Copyright 2007 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. A quick update. Apparently the victim knew one of her attackers and even had assault issues with him previously so the crime wasn't random. And, as if that makes it any better, there will be NO federal hate crime charges brought against the six devils. article

While I certainly have sympathy for the sister, what boggles my mind is how and why our people continue to trust and have close "social relationships" with our sworn enemy, who continues to daily terrorize us all over the nation and world. We get so excited (some of us) that they want to be close to us, sleep with us, etc. and try to use their agreed proximity as a way to try and convince ourselves and others that some of them are alright. It is just so simple to me. JUST SAY NO to http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5i...vljI2sQ1H52W7g

The more I learn about this case the more confused I become. Between the six attackers, there have been 108 criminal charges since 1991 and their bail is set at $100,000 a piece but there are high school boys in prison for a school yard fight.

| No hate crime charges in torture case By SHAYA TAYEFE MOHAJER, Associated Press Writer Authorities decided Wednesday not to pursue hate crime charges in the kidnapping and weeklong torture of a black woman, instead going after the suspects, who are white, on state charges that carry stiffer penalties. While federal civil rights or state hate crime charges remain an option, a state kidnapping count that carries a sentence of up to life in prison will provide the best chance for successful prosecution, officials said. "As a practical matter, sentenced to life, what else can be done?" U.S. Attorney Charles T. Miller told The Associated Press. Six people face charges, including kidnapping, sexual assault and lying to police in the torture of Megan Williams, 20, at a remote hillside home in Big Creek. State hate crime charges, which carry a sentence of 10 years, could come later, prosecutor Brian Abraham said. State sexual assault charges carry a penalty up to 35 years in prison. The woman's captors forced her to eat rat droppings, choked her with a cable cord and stabbed her in the leg while calling her a racial slur, according to criminal complaints. They also poured hot water over her, made her drink from a toilet, and beat and sexually assaulted her during a span of about a week, the documents say. Williams was not a random target, prosecutor Brian Abraham said Wednesday. She had a "social relationship" with one of the suspects, he said. The Associated Press generally does not identify suspected victims of sexual assault, but Williams and her mother, Carmen Williams, agreed to release her name. Carmen Williams said she wanted people to know what her daughter had endured. At one point, a suspect cut the woman's ankle with a knife and used the N-word in telling her she was victimized because she is black, according to the complaints. It wasn't until an anonymous tip led Logan County sheriff's deputies to the property on Saturday that her ordeal ended, authorities said. She limped toward the deputies, her arms outstretched as she cried, "Help me," officials said. Williams remained hospitalized Wednesday in Charleston. The hospital declined to release any information about her condition. The victim had a previous relationship with Bobby Brewster, one of the six in custody, Abraham said. He was charged in July with domestic battery and assault after a domestic dispute involving the same woman. "She obviously had some sort of social relationship," Abraham said. "That is based on the fact that she was present at his residence on a prior date." The suspects have arrest records going back several years, according to records from Logan County Magistrate Court, and Abraham said was he familiar with all of them. "Most of the charges are minor things," Abraham said. "Basically on weekends they get in trouble and by the middle of the week they make up with each other." Since 1991, police have filed 108 criminal charges against the six. Brewster's mother, Frankie Brewster, 49, faced the most serious charges among them. She was charged in 1994 with first-degree murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter and wanton endangerment. She was released from prison in 2000 after serving five years in the death of an 84-year-old woman, court records show. In Williams' case, Frankie Brewster is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and giving false information during a felony investigation. Bobby Brewster, 24, also of Big Creek, is charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, malicious wounding and assault during the commission of a felony. In March, Brewster was accused in criminal complaints of attacking his mother with a machete at her home, according to court records. The outcome of those charges — domestic assault, brandishing a deadly weapon and obstructing an officer — was not immediately clear. Danny J. Combs, 20, of Harts, is charged with sexual assault and malicious wounding. Karen Burton, 46, of Chapmanville, was charged with malicious wounding, battery and assault during the commission of a felony. Burton's daughter, Alisha Burton, 23, and George A. Messer, 27, both of Chapmanville, are charged with assault during the commission of a felony and battery. She previously faced charges of assault during the commission of a felony and battery; in May, she was accused of striking Messer with a shovel and smashing the window of a woman's car. The charges are pending. All six remained in custody Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 cash bail each. Bobby Brewster is scheduled to appear before a Logan County Circuit Court judge on Monday to be arraigned on the kidnapping charge, according to court records. A date for his mother's appearance on the kidnapping charge has not yet been set. Public defender Dwyane Adkins, appointed to represent Bobby Brewster, and public defender Betty Gregory, appointed to represent Karen Burton, declined to comment. The other defendants' court-appointed lawyers were either in hearings or did not immediately return telephone calls Wednesday. Neighbors of Megan Williams in Charleston recalled her as sweet-natured but said her family members kept largely to themselves. "They were isolated, in a way," said the Rev. Norman Jones of the Greater Emmanuel Gospel Tabernacle, which Carmen Williams attended. "Carmen was very protective of Megan, so it was hard to know her well." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070913/...lzgvWl2wwXIr0F Copyright © 2007 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.

Last night on the news, a reporter had the audacity to imply that there was a relationship between the survivor and one of the attackers...almost implying that she asked for it. There is also question as to whether or not this will be charged as a hate crime. Unbelievable...but I am not surprised. This is another case we need to keep on our watch list. 6 arrested, charged in woman's week long torture # Authorities believe racism played role in ordeal (IN WEST VIRGINIA) By Gary Harki Staff writer Carmen Williams doesn't understand why her 20-year-old daughter was tortured, raped and tied up in a shed. Police tell her that what happened was probably a hate crime, that it happened because Megan Williams is black. "Every time they stabbed her, they called her 'nigger,'" her mother said. But whatever the reason, Carmen Williams wants people to know what happened to her daughter. She agreed to talk to a reporter from her daughter's room at Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital. She said a man and a woman -- who Megan Williams thought were her friends -- took her to the house of Frankie Lee Brewster in Pecks Mill, Logan County. Megan Williams was held in the house for about a week, police said. According to criminal complaints filed against six people in this case, she was beaten, stabbed, choked, sexually assaulted and threatened with death. The details are even more horrible. According to the complaints, she was forced to eat dog and rat feces and to lick up blood. She was made to lick parts of Brewster's body, under the threat of death. Her hair was pulled out. She was made to drink from the toilet. She was sexually assaulted while hot water was poured on her body, and while a man held a knife to her. A woman allegedly cut Megan Williams' ankle and said, "That's what we do to niggers around here." Six people had been charged Monday evening, including Brewster, the 49-year-old woman who owns the home where the alleged assault happened. She is charged with sexual assault, kidnapping, malicious wounding and giving false statements to an officer. | We do not have to be victims
As horrific as this case is, we do not have to be victims. My suggestion is rather than get mad for 2 weeks and forget about it like we collectively do with most cases of this nature, that instead we pledge, each and every one of us, to arm ourselves with information, knowledge and weapons. Every state in the country except Illinois and Wisconsin have concealed carry laws where any person over 21 yrs old with no criminal background can apply for and recieve a license to carry a concealed handgun. I have a couple of articles on weapons training and ammo selection on the warfare section of this site. Even if you live in Illinois or Wisconsin and you can't get a permit in your state, you can still get out of state permits from other states. For example, Flordia issues out of state permits. Many other states have what are called reciprocity laws with other states. Even though Illinois, where I live doesn't issue permits, I have a Florida license whih is recognized in Indiana, Ohio and several other states. Therefore, any time I travel to a state that has reciprocity with Florida, I'm packin. Check out a webb site called www.packing.org for a list of concealed carry laws in all 50 states and which states have reciprocity laws with other states. Get as many out of state permits as you can. A knife is legal in all 50 states and can be used by a person of any size, age, strength or shape. There is a Phillipino martial art called Kali which teaches how to use both a knife and stick as a weapon. I have studied Kali for several years and it is a very effective fighting system. Kali also has a very effective hand to hand component to it as well. A walking cane is legal in all 50 states and can be taken on a plane unlike any other weapon. Check out a webb site called Canemasters at www.canemasters.com. They make excellent combat canes of varoius sizes, shapes and prices. It is a truely worthy investment. Study one or more Martial Arts, preferrably one that is more combat oriented rather than tourniment orientated. I am much more concerned with spending the night in jail and comming out with a virgin butthole the next morning than I am with winning a trophy. The other thing we need to do is wake up! Ms. William's mother was quoted as saying "I didn't think this thing could still happen in this day and age" . My question is when did white folks get civilized and start acting like normal human beings????? Or perhaps a better question is when did white folks stop acting like barbarians??? Too many of us are living in a fantasy world. From what I have read, Ms. Williams went to this location voluntarily because she thought some of these monsters were her friends! What more do white folk have to do tho show us that they are our sworn enemies! Rather than simply getting mad, lets do something about it, so the next headline we read says " white man castrated for attempting to rape Black woman". |
