| Class collaborators and class enemies
The black middle class is our class enemy, posing a contradiction nearly as sharp as the struggle against Imperialism. Obviously you never heard of neo-colonialism and dont understand how it operates. History is defined more by the motion and friction of class forces rather than individuals and cliques. For instance, history is not defined by MLK and the civil rights movement as much as how that period was intertwined with other factors going on in history. How did King and his movement relate to the African liberation struggle? That group barely showed any interest to any struggles except how to uplift their own class in America. There is no concept of an international African struggle ever advanced by King, Jackson, Abernathy, John Lewis, King Sr, Coretha, Andy Young, what-have-you. So how does that help black people in our understanding of who we are and where we are going. The death of Malcolm X held far greater significance as a blow to African unity. King's death was negligible as far as that goes. To talk about Jesse being a collaborator serves history; it serves history to discuss the collaborationist character of King's entire clique. It serves history to show how King attempted to break with that, but what kind of development was he showing and what forces were compelling him in that direction. These discussions serve history, but pure speculation on Jesse Jackson setting him up is a deflection and a sideline for conspiracy theorists. What has the black middle class achieved over the last forty years? If you think they are not class enemies of African working and poor people, show how they have fought tooth and nail against the prison industrial complex or built liberation movements in our community. Show how they have broadened and deepened African unity, used their capital to produce revolutionary literature and cinema, or done anything except look after their own interests. Quote me all you want, I'm outta here. |

Don't know if this is to be believed but this is interesting. Ranks up there with information provided by Manning Marable about Alex Haley and his fuckery. Looking forward to his book dropping on this subject. The Malcolm X Project at Columbia University http://play.rbn.com/?url=demnow/demn...tsp&start=9:54

| I am glad we are able to struggle as comrades Quote:
The character of this period differs from the struggle between Betty Shabazz and the NOI. It was the NOI which acted on behalf of Imperialism to have Malcolm X assassinated. The NOI did its utmost to crush its legacy, including intimidating and harassing Betty and her children. She fought a long, hard bitter struggle with Farrakhan up to her death, altho they had reconciled in public. But Farrakhan spit on Malcolm's legacy every chance he got. On the other hand, what polemics have we seen come out of the civil rights movement? Polemics is a very critical aspect of any struggle which pitches two sides against one another. We have seen Jesse water down the concept of class by taking it from a revolutionary concept and making it into something subjective, called "classissm." That's like "truthiness." I already cited how he coopted work by the BPP and undermined that. His contributions in the neo-colonialist trend for US imperialism are very significant. So are Coretta's, who seemingly only made public appearances to "keep the Dream alive" rather than fight for the rights of African people. She was never anything close to or in the same company with Betty Shabazz. |
