Internationally recognized and award-winning director Haile Gerima, of the highly acclaimed film Sankofa, will be hosting a series of eight events over the course of eight weeks as a prelude to launching The Maroons Online Adventure Website and moving into the production phase of The Maroons documentary film project. The Maroons will be a six-hour, six part documentary series which focuses on the Africans who fled the slave plantations and formed free societies throughout North, South, & Central America, and the Caribbean.
