International Committee to Support Imam Jamil Al-Amin(the former H. Rap Brown) 547 West End Place, SW Atlanta, GA. 30310 678-886-2622 www.geocities.com/ICSIJAA make donations to: the JUSTICE FUND PO BOX 93963 ATLANTA, GA.30377 ICSIJAA COMMUNITY REPORT AND UPDATE : MARCH 16, 2005 Today MARCH 16, 2005 marks FIVE years(MARCH 16, 2000)since the incidents around the Commuity Masjid in Atlanta's, West End which left two Fulton County Sherriff Deputies shot, one fatally and the other nearly fatal. It's THREE years(MARCH 2002) since the show trial and unbelieveable conviction that has IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN serving the ridiculous sentence of life without parole plus thirfy-five years. APPEAL STATUS :The Imam's attorneys have presented issues to the Georgia STATE Appelate Panel Of Judges as well as the FEDERAL Appelate Court for review only to recieve denials from both courts. We are waiting to hear from the Imam's attorneys as to whether or not the State will hear new eveidence concerning the confession of one Otis Jackson aka Silas Muhammad. Meanwhile the entire case is being examined by independent legal examiners who's findings if found worthy will be made public. The FEDERAL review will only be possible when all STATE level remedies have been exhausted. INTERNATIONAL AND HUMAN RIGHTS LAW : We salute the organizers and conveners of the FIFTH (5th) NDABA (discussions on Reparations) being convened at Clark Atlanta University (in our neighborhood) this weekend. May we remind the participants of the Fifth NDABA. particularly those who participate in the Criminal in-Justice forum to study and examine the Dec 1, 2001 hearing of the Indigenous Afrikan American Tribunal CASE NO. IC-2001, IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN and The UNITED STATES of AMERICA. FINAL JUDGEMENT AND DECREE(see ICSIJAA pamphlet INTERNATIONALIZING THE CASE OF IMAM JAMIL A. AL-AMIN(The former H. Rap Brown). We strongly encourage and recommend that individuals, organizations, forums and conferences that agree with the findings of that court that under international law the U.S criminal justice system have never properly attained and do not enjoy legal jurisdiction over us as a people... to use this argument not merely as a "wolf ticket" to sound off at the u.s government or as a mute point of appeal in the US. domestic courts but utlize this Court findings and argument to establish and develop an independent community/level and national court system of mediating solutions to our internal domestic issues... and give our allegiance to it. (example RNA People's Courts). The topical case of Brian Nichols serves to remind us how grave an issue it is.Had there been an independent mediation process for he and his fueding mate to utilize in the first place and had they utilized it there would not have been a rape trial/ hung-jury/re-trial process to get frustrated with and rebel against. The power of understanding the issue of jurisdiction lies quite necessarily in developing the proper forums as a matter and issue of self-determination not in applying incorrect actions in the incorrect forums. The only ones that can build the system for us is us.BUILD TO WIN. visit www.aareparations.com GRIEVANCES : IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN a Political Prisoner who by all International and Human Rights Standards and by all standards of decency and common sense should not be housed and treated in the manner in which he is presently housed and treated. He has filed grievances within the State Prison process of reviewing and alleviating grievances . He was cited as being in violation of a uniform dress inpection code code as the reason for his A.S. status. The violation being not having the top button hole of a shirt buttoned. As it turns out the uniform dress inspection code was for prison employess and not to be for prisoners. 4. Being denied legal rights: Imam Jamil Al-Amin's legal mail is still being opened , read and its delivery delayed. 5. Being made to suffer sexual abuse: Imam Jamil was made to submit to a strip search and cavity search in the presence of female employees who had no valid reason for being present. 6.Loss of visiting priviliges : Without any evidence and without a hearing of any kind a fellow Imam was denied the privilige of visiting with Imam Jamil Al-Amin on the basis that it was alleged that he smuggled a candy bar to him. 7.Loss of phone priviliges: Although the phone and phone calling process is totally under the prison administration control (they bring him the phone and take away the phone) the claim is that he has abused the phone privilige. 8. Loss of commissary priviliges : He is temporarily denied access to the prison's commissary. 9. Failing in all attempts thus far employed to break his will the STATE has escalated their attempts at assassination of IMAM JAMIL AL-AMIN.
