Writing a Political Prisoner
When I write a prisoner, I write quotes that I have found inspiring, stories about situations I have been through, current events, etc. I keep the letters friendly and ask about their appeals, upcoming parole hearings, etc and what actions we on the outside, can take. I also ask them to share a bit about themselves, whatever they feel comfortable in sharing, that is.

For those that are worried about the safety of using their home address, there is a P.O Box available through the forum which can be used to correspond with political prisoners. Inquire for more details.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated! (Also review the first post in this sticky)

For those that need a template to get started, let me know and I will furnish one for you.

What i have done is make art cards for our P.O.W.s:
made of construction paper with paint and mixed mediums...lots of colors to send love vibration and culture to penetrate through the walls of the wicked institution!
the power of art is real, so even if you don't draw, make them words colorful if you dare... use a crayon or something!

LET'S GIVE THEM FOLKS THE GALLERY THEY DESERVE!!!

Received a letter from Hanif today, in it he says:

"Being sent home is finally a reality, but even now it seems so surreal. We arrived on August 8th and the only downside of this all, is that the very next day after my co-defendent, Malik Smith arrived, our other co-defendent, Abdul Aziz (Ballentine) was shipped to Virginia, on a bogus possession of contraban charge, a cell phone. We were unable to speak with him before he left, but there is the possibility that his transfer was for medical reasons, as he is still battling the prostate condition."

He asks us to give a warm and comradely shout out to Sundiata Acoli, Sekou Odinga, Herman Bell, Veronza Bowers, and Bill Dunne,all PP/POW he did time with over the years. Hanif says the future still holds much hope!
