Dear Comrades and Friends:

It's time to Pick Up the Work! We wish to honor Safiya Bukhari by continuing the work she dedicated her life to, the struggle for recognition and release of all political prisoners/POWs. That is why we are holding the Safiya Bukhari International Human Rights Weekend on Dec. 10th and 11th here in NYC.

We are producing the Safiya Bukhari Resource Guide as a tool for activists. The Resource Guide will include many organizations working on the issues of political prisoners/POWs, HIV/AIDs, community organizing, etc., etc.--both nationally and internationally.

It will be 8.5 x 5.5 inches (see mockup below). Full-page ads (7.5 x 4.5 in.) cost only $50, and half-page ads (3.5 x 4.5 in.) only $25. We can do the layout for you.

In order to be included in the Resource Guide, ads must be received by November 17, 2004. Ads received after that date will NOT be included in the Resource Guide, but will be available at the Saturday, Dec. 11th networking session.

I recall many years of listening to sister Bukhari on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City, particularly on a program called "Building Bridges." I miss her a gread deal, but very glad to know her work is being continued by others.

Ona Move,

None of my revolutionary teachers has touched me as Queen Sis. Safiya has, she was incredibly dependable, so loving & humble, profoundly brilliant and completely selfless. There is not a (recognized) PP/POW whose life she didn't impact in some way. Anyone who was blessed to have been in her midst in person or via any medium should be having sleepless nights if they're not continuing her courageous struggle to free our entombed warriors!
