Which program is the best one to use for altering photos and making them look all groovy-like?

Photoshop is my favorite. It's also extremely powerful and flexible. Gimp is very limited in it's ability, but is much easier to get started.

Take the time to learn photoshop basics and you will appreciate it's power.

      Greetings DBlack & ThaAlchemist!

I like photoshop as well a bit over bloated, but it's still tops in my book.

DBlack good advice on starting with the basics first in photoshop. It
truly is a very flexible program. New users usually should take it slow
when using it so that they do not become overwhelmed with all the
      features.

      Thank you both for sharing!

      Peace!

Photoshop is the world's graphics industry standard. Its whats most of this site and its avatars were created in. Using its companion program, Adobe ImageReady, you can create animated gifs, recolor just about anything, extract a background. pretty much anything.

Thx, Yes it was all done in Photoshop. I am still a rookie as I've been using it for about a year now.

I need to learn how to do animated gifs. So much to learn, so little time...

      Hmm...

It's been a while since I have used photoshop (I took a class in high school that discussed photoshop and macromedia flash), so I'm not sure how much the program has or hasn't changed.

I know one thing though: I am going to cop this program.

      Peace.

Each new version requires at least a year to get up to speed. I have been using Photoshop since 98 or so. And I am still learning. There is a steep learning curve to be sure.

I'll keep that in mind when I get the program.

      Thanks, IfasehunReincarnated.
