Verify Your CDs and DVDs

It depends on which program you use to record CDs and DVDs but most programs offer an option to verify the CD or DVD after you have recorded them.

Although this takes additional time, verification is not a step to be skipped. Why? Because if the CD or DVD has errors that make it impossible to read the data and you do not have the same data somewhere else, it is virtually lost.

If a CD or DVD passes the verification, you can rest assured that the copy is the same as the original. This will save you many unpleasant surprises later – for instance when you start installing software from a not-properly recorded CD or DVD.
