Disable the Language Bar

For most users, the little language bar that sits down on the taskbar after you install Microsoft Office is more or less never used and just taking up space on the taskbar. So, here's how to get rid of it.

First, go into the Control Panel. If you're using the Classic View, double click on "Regional and Language Options". If you're using the Category View, go to "Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options", then under control panel icons, open up "Regional and Language Option".

Next, go to the "Languages" tab > "Details" > and click on the "Language Bar" button.

Uncheck "Show the Language bar on the desktop" and "Show additional Language bar icons in the taskbar".

Hit "OK" in all the open windows, and the Language bar should be gone.
