If you have an LCD display, sometimes the fonts can appear very grainy or pixelated. This is due to the difference in the way CRT and LCD monitors handle the display of text on the screen. To make the fonts appear "clean" in on an LCD, you can enable ClearType.

Here is how:

1. Right Click on your Desktop
2. Select Properties
3. Select the Appearance tab
4. Click Effects
5. Select the option: "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts"
6. Select ClearType from the list
7. Click Ok

After you have applied it, text will have a much "richer" appearance and is much easier on your eyes.
