      Google Desktop Security Warning

Today’s post is a for those of you using the popular Google Desktop tool. Google recently released a slew of fixes to address some security issues, but many experts believe there are more exploits than Google is letting be known (as they should be doing). article gives a good explanation regarding some privacyconcerns with Google Desktop.

      From the article:

According to vulnerability detection specialist firm Watchfire, a cross site scripting error makes it possible for an attacker to gain full access to a users’ PC because the search giant insists on providing a link from its Web site directly to computers loaded with Google Desktop Search.

Of course I am not trying to spurn any paranoia here, however just be careful when you use a tool, such as Google Desktop, which allows online access to your files. Your sensitive data is only as secure as the service you use.

Greetings your Jahness! Do u recommend another way? I use google email and its desk top, and am fully aware of what it's claim that "u'll never have to delete anything" means. It means everything is kept for future usages.

But in reality isn't this the case with all internet providers? I subscribed to a software program once that wiped clean cache, etc down to a federal legal limit.

See what I mean. I stopped spending $30. or so a year. And now use IE7's deletions of temp files, history, cookies etc. Keep up the useful work, my sistah.
