Ancient African Maps Posted Online http://www.library.northwestern.edu/.../mapsofafrica/ The Northwestern University Library has posted its collection of rare maps of Africa online. The 113 maps, date from 1530 to 1915.

It has always been interesting how Europeans defined Africa and the world, as compared to others as well as the true facts. It wasn’t until recently that Africa has been properly sized as compared to Europe, which was usually oversized and is still racistly deemed a separate continent in many reference books, instead of being a part of western Asia. Also, when one studies the facts, Africa’s southern tip should be at the top of the world map with Northern Europe being at the bottom.
