| Honor Nkrumah: The Answer in Crisis and Non-Crisis Honor Nkrumah: The Answer in Crisis and Non-Crisis Dr. Nkrumah is worthy of any honor we can bestow upon him. Of that there is no doubt.
But I believe the proper, most appropriate way to honor the 100th Anniversary of his birth is by accepting the responsibility to assist in some way the completion of the work of his life --
This being the work of the ages old human movement to free the un-free, unchain the enslaved masses and avenge the martyrs; As we would say today, so that human civilization can survive and develop as human societies with particular, distinct, discrete cultures all feeding into a giant human global culture.
A work that has many manifestations and characteristics, all corresponding to the tension of the diversity and unity dialectic in the African and larger human family. A work that Nkrumah has scientifically demonstrated can only be achieved with the liberation of Africa and its complete unification under conditions that put society and individual HUMAN beings as its primary interest.
This will require a just people-owned continental government and state that evolves and develops a foreign policy reflecting the peoples' collective needs as determined by an informed people and their institutions; a security and defense strategy that is visionary and alert to threats to Union Government and African Culture, as they are one and the same thing, a precious thing indeed, the essence the of Pan-African national power of the massed and informed, self-empowering African people around the world.
That is a suitably revolutionary government corresponding to the degree of revolutionary conditions of the African world in each given revolutionary period --- whether the primary movement at the moment is going backward or forward..
And what is this work? Propagation of the system of centralized power the hands of the African people of the world in a technological age communalistic paradigm. A system that is based on reflecting and advancing the concepts, methods, tactics, and strategy consistent with philosophical consciencism. In short, the Nkrumah school of materialist philosophy - philosophy in action for the betterment of humanity.
This can only be achieved by establishing a neo-colonialist-free Africa and empowering the Pan-Africanist state that emerges from this struggle so that it can serve the people in our construction, the embryonic beginnings, of a cooperative economic and social systems based on scientific socialist materialism.
A great state that will engage and change the world for better. But a great state that will honor and cherish its valiant sons and daughters and institutions as part of the legacy of the development of African Culture and the African Personality and the African United Socialist State, because this state will respect and nurture our distinctively discrete culture, which is absolute central to the salvation and survival of not only Africa, but of modern day world culture and history. Our African great state will be worthy of honor and love, the people of the world will love it because it stands uncompromisingly for justice and freedom and peace and an absence of want...
This would be a real revolution because here we are talking about a system that the downpressed would have built on the reverence for the steadfastness and courage of their fighting ancestors, confidence in the prescience of future generations, and optimism about the human experience; added to these: The peoples' grasp of the materialist axiom that we happily accept technological, economic or industrial innovations that fit our needs and culture. That is a Nkrumah modeled society, that is metaphorically speaking the people making revolutionary history by constructing a social system based on the egalitarian and humanistic democratic traditions of Africa.
