A delegation of three members from the Windsor Marxist-
Leninist Party Club participated in the Canadian delegation
to the IV Hemispheric Encounter of Struggle Against the FTAA
in Havana Cuba from April 27 - 30. The meeting brought
together over 1000 delegates from across the Americas to
analyse the results of four years of struggle against U.S.
annexation of the Americas in the form of the Free Trade Area
of the Americas.

The highlight of the encounter was the working session on the
Bolivarian Alternative for ! the Americas in which Venezuelan
President Hugo Chavez and Cuban President Fidel Castro
addressed the delegates and invited guests on the
developments in the work to build alternatives to annexation.

The delegation also had the opportunity to participate in the
massive May 1st demonstration in Cuba amongst the over 1
million Cuban workers, woman and youth, and delegates from
over 60 countries.

The report back meeting will present an overview of the
significance of the conference, May Day in Cuba and some of
the most recent accomplishments of the Cuban revolution
through pictures, video and presentations.

Cuban Cigars, rum and symbols of resistance to annexation
from the conference and May Day will be raffled as a
fundraiser. Everyone is invited to attend.
