Philadelphia’s Role
Welcome to the website of the Philadelphia Logistics Center for the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the Million Man March. and the Millions More Movement. Our role is to support the call of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and other national Black leaders, to reconvene on the National Mall in Washington D.C. on October 15, 2005. On that date, our national leadership will present a plan of action for us to take back to our communities for implementation as a part of the Millions More Movement.
The Philadelphia Logistics Center will assist with logistics planning and operations support for the national mobilization and the events planned for Washington D.C. in October of 2005.
This website will also support the mobilization activities of the Delaware Valley Regional Organizing Committee and the Local Organizing Committees for; Atlantic City, NJ; Camden, NJ; Chester, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Harrisburg, PA; and Wilmington DE.
As frequently as possible, we will share information on the development of the action plans for the cities in our region, through the input of the Local Organizing Committees (LOCs). These plans will be presented to the National Headquarters for the MMM in Chicago, IL.
We will also provide national and local information on Transportation and Mobilization Events from LOCs around the country. We will keep you abreast of mobilization news and information that will allow you to contact the Local organizing Committee closest to your location, so that you can join us in Washington on October 15, 2005.
The Philadelphia Logistics center will also recruit and train capable and committed volunteers from the region, to support the national mobilization and to serve as Marshals and Event Staff for the planned activities in Washington D.C.
So please visit the site often and tell others about it. Our intent is to assist in making the call for mobilization a successful reality. Long Live the Spirit of the Million Man March.
