Press Release: For Immediate Release For more information contact: February 20, 2006 215-213-0078 "The Whirlwind Is Upon US" New Information To be Released on Marcus Garvey, International Law, and African Peoples Independence It is undisputable that Marcus Garvey and his UNIA-ACL movement has an important and incomparable place in Black History and with that unequal contributions to the freedom and empowerment of African people worldwide. On Fri. February 24, 2006, the Council General of the UNIA-ACL, Faruq Muhammad, will be at The Mantis School located at 4522 Baltimore Ave. (Southwest Phila) at 7:00 PM to begin one of the first public open forums and presentations highlighting some of the international law related work and governmental relationships established by Mr. Garvey the planned actions soon to be taken that is connected to this extensive research and important new findings. Also presenting will be Harambee Radio host, Bro. Senghor Baye-El, who also serves as the 3rd Assistant Vice President of the UNIA-ACL. A special cultural Spoken Word performance will be provided by several Philly-tri-state are artist and a recorded presented will be heard by renowned scholar and historian Dr. Tony Martin. Special "Insights Into Garvey, His Philosophies, and Today" will be given by the Honorable Redman Battle, the President General of the UNIA-ACL. A $5:00 Donation is requested, but Love Donations will also be accepted. The community at large is invited to attend. Black law school students, pre-law, social and political science majors from Temple, U of Penn, Villanova, Community College, and Rutgers University have been invited to participate in a panel discussion that will address the impact of Garvey on future generations and the issue of Black Sovereignty.
