African Women's World Summit

African Women's World Summit

Greetings:

The Million Woman March National Organizing Committee and The National Million Woman March (the official convening entities of the historic 1997 gathering in Phila. PA) will be convening the MWM "African Women's World Summit " NA-1 Oct. 23-29, 2006 in the USA.
(The African Women's World Summit NA-2 will take place in the Spring of 2007 in Canada)

The African Women's World Summit (AWWS) is a part of the official Million Woman March 9th year anniversary commemorative event and the prelude to the MWM 10 Year Anniversary Celebration and Reunion.

The AWWS activity will consolidate a progressive Black women's agenda for Peace, Power, and Prosperity for African people worldwide.

As of this date, it is estimated that the AWWS event will bring together
African women from more than 25 countries who will unite to assist in the further implementation of the MWM "Five Year Action Plan +2", partake in the establishment of the International Million Woman Movement, and thus begin the official worldwide launching of the first global Movement and Federation for Women of African descent.

While celebrating the greatness and achievements of Black women and assuring the necessary development for global Pan African Sistahood, The Summit will examine relevant issues and qualitatively prepare accordingly for a course of (pro) action related to both immediate and protracted concerns and interest.

Unions are encouraged to send a representative(s) who will be responsible for providing information, at the Summit, needed for MWM to further evaluate and determine socio-political collaborations and joint economic/financial development projects as well as to help establish an on going line of communications and serious on going work relationships.

Reports pertaining to issues that are to be considered for support/action operations will be presented at the Summit in addition to briefings, updates, etc. regarding pending matters (Violation of Women and Children, Reparations, HIV/AIDS, Political Prisoners, etc.)

If you are interested in having a Million Woman March representative address your group please e-mail: mwmsistahood@aol.com, or write to
The National MWM PO Box 53668 Philadelphia, PA

Your request will be processed within 5 business days upon receipt.

For additional information call 215-213-0078 or e-mail mwmsistahood@aol.com.

Stay in tune to "Visions of A NU Day" hosted by Million Woman March Founder and President General Empress Chi (Sis. Empress Phile' Chionesu) for on going Million Woman March updates and reports, each Monday evening 10:00PM -12midnight EST on The Harambee Radio Network: www.harambeeradio.com

Mark Your Calendar: The African Women's World Summit will take place Oct 21-28, 2006 for the Million Woman March 9 Year Anniversary Observance and Celebration.
