Program of Commemorative Events Honoring the 40th Anniversary of the 67’ Student Demonstration
Wednesday November 14th

Student representatives from several high schools will speak at a SRC meeting.

Thursday November 15th

Student representatives will be presented with a resolution written by Councilwoman Donna Reed Miller and Councilwoman Marion Tasco that declared November 17th David P. Richardson Day for the City of Philadelphia.

Friday November 16th
What: “Day of Student Voices”—in commemoration of the 40th year anniversary of the historic November 17th 1967 Philadelphia High School Student Walkout in demand of the teaching of African-American History and a better education for all Black children

Where: 440 N Board St. (Outside the Headquarter of the Philadelphia School District)

When: Friday, November 16th 2007 4pm-5pm

Who: All Philadelphia High School Students, Parents, College Students, Community Organizations and their supporters

Speakers:

Imani X of Philadelphia Freedom Schools
Pili X of the Young Black Activist Coalition
Terrell Glover of the Poor Righteous Youth, November 17th Youth Caucus, Germantown High School
Gabe Bryant of Sankofa Community Empowerment
Reese of November 17th Youth Caucus, Overbrook High School
Rakim Rogers and Courtney Warfield of the Young Legends of Germantown High School
