Freedom

Freedom

The light at the end of the tunnel shines bright
Our bones are weary, its been a long fight
They tried to hold us down with their attacks
Killing innocent people in packs
Because they dared to speak out for their rights
tears roll down my cheeks at the sight
Of young school children beaten all night
Because they dared to separate wrong from right

The light at the end of the tunnel shines bright
A light that builds hope in our hearts
We are ready for the fight, ready to take flight
Spread our wings, and fly, to greater heights
We are not afraid, we shall overcome
No longer will we be held down,
We shall evolve from sunrise to sundown

The light at the end of the tunnel shines bright
It acts as our guide, our dreams we shall find
Our spirits will not be subdued by vile words of anger and hate
No matter what they say, our freedom is our fate
Our future is at stake, for our children’s sake.
The journey may be long but we shall not give up
They can beat us, and kill us, but our collective spirit will always outlive us
Many were lost to the fight, their memories will forever live in our hearts
The fight for freedom is an arduous task
But with God on our side, it’s not too much to ask.

Calm down little brother
Time heals all wounds
No matter how much one is weeping

The moon always follows the sun.
Eat your banana’s and fresh leaves,

And don’t cry anymore,
Because forever and ever
The moon will follow the sun
