the challenge is to find
beauty, like a priceless
black pearl contained
within an ugly shell,
to endure the white flames
of hell, for the hope to live
in paradise forever,
a commitment to vision
and clarity, never comes
easily, pain most certainly
travels with one on that
path, but the challenge is
to last in the ring, to be
the first, endure the
metaphysical rebirth,
because a champion of
truth will take many
blows below the belt
harsh rejection must be felt,
in discovering the truest
love, for one's self,
the challenge is to
maintain and stay sane
to remain consistent with
change, keeping faith intact
and false perceptions broken
real love is unspoken but
proven in action, just do it,
without second thoughts or
rumination, be challenged
to flow, like the curly baby
buds of locks on a newly-nappy
head, be challenged to grow,
beyond what you think
you know, be determined
to LIFE and to have definitive
presence for the gift of
existence.

it was a deathly blow,

with gross intention

of mass destruction;

and generations of

heads still ache

from the partial

decapitation,

bodies of communities

numb, still holding

a death grip on life,

but the blood of lost

culture continues to seep --

and for their

forgotten language,

fatherless mothers

incessantly weep;

while phantom pain throbs

in the limbs of self-hatred

and disparity ~

Survival techniques are

contingent upon

a deeper spiritual clarity;

so we gather our

bones of brokeness

and set them with

strategies, of common unity;

for our collective

destiny, is to answer

the divine call to

Rebirth,

Black love and

Conscious living.
