do you think that oftentimes in the rush that comes with being concerned about our community, our country, and our rights that some people disgrace the whole movement? The reason why i ask this question in the poem section of the forum is because I see many "poets" who put their agendas in their poems and come off sounding unintelligent. Now wait, I'm the first one to take up arms to bring the revoluitons throught the arts.......but when we use our cause and not our muse.. it oftentimes brings about progandic bullshit!

This is just a general observation that just cuz ur fist raised high, and your fighting for 400 years of oppression doesn't mean that ryhming ; Motherfuckin cracker are wacker than strong african warrior ..doesn't make it art,poetry... it makes it a rant disguised as prose

im not a literary snob; however, i do have a strong concern for the mutillation of art that i love .

peace and blessings,

haitianhero

Revolution is an act, not a prose or a rant. Poetry is an expression fueled by emotional and perceptual elements. If one so happens to be a revolutionary and a poet, as was Huey, then his poetry would reflect the affirmations or realizations of a revolutionary. However, poetry can never be judged as u have. Poetry is emotion manifested by verbal symbolization...there is no way to sound unintelligent.

i disagree. art is not that simple yet it's not that complicated. Like i stated in my previous statement; I have nothing against someone manifesting their emotions through their work. However, i do have a problem when it lacks anything but revolutionary propaganda . That is when it's reminscent of being spooken down to by the slavemaster!
