Freedom smack

Freedom smack

As black man with a free mind
And a locked down behind
My skin tone tends to scream for what it needs
Desiring to bleed what is in my mind
And feel what my bones cry out for
Wishing to push the weight of living off my shoulders
Then in one corner of my body something starts hurts
Feeling as if from the inside something is forcing its way out
I know that my soul doesn't like life
Yet I'm not ready to die
I still have things to do and so far I have yet to shorten my time
It's a staggering feeling to know that my soul hates the world
But I...have learned to shack it off
Just putting it to the side and play the unfair game
Blaming the world for the problems I face
But I am the only one at fault for excepting this fate
Working hard for a value free dollar
Which value seems to be worth more than me
And this nation just holds me thoughts and livelihood
Wrapped around it's finger in a sickening destructive marriage
Where I play the battered tattered mate in this hateful love affair
And it seems like we're all stuck right here
Loving this evil thing, waking just to work away another day
SPEAK UP IF YOUR BOLD
And get smacked down by complacent reality
Because everybody just wants to live
And living poor hurts
The pain in your belly, the cold of the outside world
Keeps us slaves to a system that bails out the rich, the hell with the poor
So not to be smacked down by the facts I...have learned to shack it off
Put it to the back of my mind
And over look the fact that my spirit wants to run free
Speaking when I can, mostly writing it down
Yeah so many things to speak about that sometimes are better displayed as poems
Because you tend to have more free speech in a poem that some people may never want to read
Feeling as if it is art they'll never get
More words to read after a long day of reading at work
“It's too deep, That can't be true, Stop the conspiracy BS TALK”
So they will over look it and me because it's just another political poem
Leaving me out of the Freedom smack
Allowing my speech to run naked with out fear of being cloth
Still...it doesn't stop the feeling of my soul trying to push it's way out of my heart
