| Who saw Dr. Shakur on American Gangster?
i'm posting this here because i don't want to eclipse the post on Peltier's emergency over on the POW forum. i thought the balance was OK, not great, because i think there was too much focus on the violence and not the entire movement, which wasn't fleshed out as completely as i thought it should have been. They did a good job of explaining his work as a Dr. of Acupuncture, but you didn't come away exactly seeing him as a "Doctor," however. Also, some of the editing (like Bro. Ferguson) was too tight, i think he was even cut off mid-sentence. However, the "pro" side was very, very well represented, even featuring Bro. Chokwe Lumumba! Overall, tho, i give it a B-. The history was pretty good but again, didn't really delve deeply enough into the murders/maiming/intimidation of everyday Bros./Sis. by police, not just COINTELPRO killings. The complete drug/murder war on the total community. But i felt good when it was over, because i felt love and pride for Dr. Shakur, and i hope people meeting him for the first time will, as well. He sounded and looked like such a strong soldier, he was fantastic! They also let it be known that the cop who arrested him got popped for burglary himself, which was a great aha! moment in exposing the contradiction of "who are the REAL criminals"!

Bro. Walk, I am right with you it is a parahna attempting to eat our young! I did finally see the special, and I am still trying to figure out the Amerikkkan Gangsta concept and connection? Still it was fair considering it comes from the beast. I did feel that a couple of reactions may occur from this as the beast does nothing lest the agenda of Global Aryanism be upheld. It may have been a ploy to turn our folks away from the movement, because of the violent overtones, it also may serve to trivialize the movement as "bizarre" "crazy" and "cult-ish"!!!!

Thanks all, y'all, i hear ya, we can't truss it, especially with that whole "gangster" connotation, which is definitely a major problem. Considering the source, it could have been a whole lot worse, IMO. i just haven't been seeing/hearing anyone discussing this at all, i appreciate y'alls feedblack and would love to read more!

I don't watch BET even though I heard that this was to come on. I wanted to see it but I never watch the channel so I never caught it when it did.

| RBG Tube! We need to expand this to include creation of our own documentaries, we can do it, hell I am a writer, some of you all are good at the whole video editing, production, I love a microphone as much as Jesse Jackson...but I am dope as hell, whereas he is one hell of a dope! I digress, but we can do this type of thing as well!

You know what I think for the purpose of Viacom owned, Aryan Capitalist Supremacist BET! The terms American and Gangster are right on time! They knew exactly what they were doing, painting a blood drenched picture of Dr.Shakur as someone to fear and hate as opposed to love. They only held back some volatile projections of him for fear of inciting the masses to actually think. For Afrikans like us this would not work, this show was not for us, it was for the masses. Well thought out, well produced with just a sprinkling of, "Hey, nigga don't resist, rebel or evolve" cuz' we will do you like this guy!"
