We got a chance to speak with Fred Hampton Jr of the POCC the other day and he gave us a breakdown of what's been happening in Mississippi.
He spoke about the Red Cross and how many of the victims he spoke with felt they were totally unresponsive in terms of helping provide for some basic needs. As a result Hampton and his POCC comrades started the Black Cross.. he goes into detail about what all that entails..
Fred Hampton also talked about the conditions inside the coliseum where many our housed. It's hard to believe that the mainstream media did not show or even tell us about residents being housed in a coliseum in Mississippi. Hampton said the conditions there are not good and that it reminded him of prison. What's even sadder, is that many of the people he spoke with inside the shelters described this as a prison, complete with armed guard regulating what can and cannot be shown on TV.
Hampton went on to talk about the fact that what took place in New Orleans was a 'land grab' in the worse way and that poor people in New Orleans were given incentives and vouchers to bounce to Houston for the past few years. He said that plans were afoot to make New Orleans a posh resort for rich white people. Part of what has been going on is a propaganda campaighn designed to discourage displaced residents from coming back. He noted that all this talk of disease and continmantion doesn't see to to be impacting the national guard who walk around without wearing any masks.
He also talked about the levees being blown up so that they would flood the city. There have been lots of folks who have spoken about hearing an explosion.
Hampton spoke about what has been happening to New Orleanians who have been placed in Chicago. He said many of them were sent over what used to be a mental institution called Tinley Park. He feels that in this facilitie all sorts of experiments will take place including forced medication to cure depression and trauma from the Hurricane incident.
Lastly hampton spoke about the prison population and what has been happening with them. He noted that prisons are big business in Louisiana...
