I agree, Caucasians perceive everyone and thing as a threat...I suggest a strong defensive stance repels an aggressive stance. If we effectively start outreaching programs to our youth...training them in areas that promote self-defense and self-reliant we would need not to worry about any organization

ms-13 may be pretty violent and are heavily involved in illegal trade, or illegitmate capitalism, but i still believe that the police are much bigger threat. i come from a familia salvadoreña and a community where the mara was big at one point, and still the only people who have ever pointed a gun directly at me were wearing blue uniforms.

i also believe that all of this negative attention being put onto gangs and gang violence is just another way of not dealing with the problem. our communities don't have the resources for education or for employement, and so the only options we're left with is either joining the military or joining a gang. i'm currently attending community college, which is a privilaege that not everyone in my community has.

and this is relevant to El Salvador. the US has imposed a neo-liberal economy which is only leaving the working-class even less enfranchised. so of course a lot of youth is going to turn to a gang life.

Gangs, their activities, and their mentality are all a threat to your peace. They are a threat to your safety. And, ultimately, the white man is going to say they are a threat to his "national security" as a pretext to implement King Alfred and REX-84.
