      What Is Your Skill/Trade?

      0 Not allowed! Not allowed!
I recently enrolled into a trade school where I am learing HVAC or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning/refrigeration. As I mentioned before, in another thread, I gave careful thought and consideration to what type of skills would be needed in nation building. My conclusion was "ALL skills", so I chose one. LOL!

I'm just curious to know what some of you do. What kinda skills do you have or are you taking up a trade?

I'm a small scale organic grower during the spring/summer/fall months.

I do consultations and grow organic herbs, fruit and vegetables for people.

I also make jams and jellies.

During the winter I crochet and make soap.

Even though I'm in a rural area I'm not able to have livestock being that I'm within city limits. Otherwise I would also have chickens and goats.

That's great!, I knew you made jellies and jams but I didn't know about the soap! What kinda soap? I may want to buy some. Do you have an online catalog?

As a matter of fact WombanAuset and I are working on my website (in fact just last week we worked on it!) We're going to have it up as soon as possible, most likely early-late fall after the growing season/harvest winds down, and she settles in her new home state. I should have inventory in and know for sure what I will have for sale.

My brother got a certificate (1.5 yr program) in heating/cooling this year. Good luck.

I have experience w/ social programs (for kids specifically, and for adults), event planning, etc. Degree in Economics, so statistic/econometrics, and economic/market theory. I intend to combine the two, c/o 2007, so I haven't had the chance. I had the opportunity to go to culinary vocational school, so there's that and the catering and food prep (for banquets, etc).

^^I also crochet, though I forgot how to knit.

Yep, unfortunately they said they'd find them jobs afterwards. But at the end come to find out not many jobs in the area for it. He made a youthful mistake in not checking the job market first. Great trade, wrong place, I guess. Then again, he may have made another mistake in the follow through, so who knows. He just landed a great job at big company doing something else, and I bet just having that was what made the difference (shows follow through, and technical ability). And your welcome.

      I'll try to.

A lot........Writer I thinking of going all in a really begin freelance writing as much as possible. I do a lot of youth out reach because some people have to talk to these kids these days (what many people always say). Public speaker/teacher I did my first program on (among other things) the "n" word giving a group of teens the history of the word letting them know "what they say". And presently getting a pay check from the library by putting books on shelves and what not.
