Chairman Fred Hampton, Sr. would have been 60 y.o. today. That is really worth taking a moment to reflect upon. Just the sheer brilliance of that Bro. at such a tender age (21 when assassinated). The ability to bring throngs of people together at the sound of his voice, to mobilize them to ACTION, to be so loved by so many, to exude such wisdom and scholarship, this is what they thought they could kill, but the spirit of which will never die.
We must protect these very special people who stand out there on the front lines for us, 24/7. i was thinking about Dr. Khallid's mysterious death today, as well. We have to have security in place, at all times, some kinda how, for those who possess this specific set of gifts.
Nuff respect and much love due to the Royal Family of Chicago (my own designation) on this day.
(i'm still learning how to post pictures, but i'm doing my best!)
"We must continue to move forward and do everything we can to outlaw legal lynching in America. We must continue to stand together in unity and to demand a moratorium on all executions. You must stay strong. You must continue to hold your heads up, and to be there. We will prevail. Keep marching Black people. They are killing me tonight. They are murdering me tonight." -- Excerpts of Last Words of Bro. Shaka Sankofa, an innocent man executed by the state of Texas, 6/22/00. www.myspace.com/nattyreb7

Yes indeed, now August 30th will have more meaning than ever. We'll never forget, and we'll never stop agitating, educating, organizing!
