    Htp Afrikans,

i just read the statement on Kalonji Jama Changa in a closed thread. i've been sporadic here on the forums (some of you know my situation) so i'm just recently getting wind of this. Has this been discussed here by the Militia in chat or something in terms of how we can help in this situation?

Also how are the organizers who were attacked? Especially in the face of continued cowardly acts of terrorism?

    concerned Afrikan,

Anything for the BlackNificent. Dag...Truth been still comin in since then like a souljah never missing a beat.

Truth and Chaos, i'm sad to hear about this complete and total breakdown in how Afrikans should relate one to another. Jacuma, cowardly is right...from what i read, nigel busted up in there like a str8 up pig/fbi/swat-team terrorist and couldn't have stolen more if he was one (which i'm not ruling out at this point)...

nuff respect to Truth, Chaos, Truth's cousin and the unnamed FTP member for trying to organize the Elder's council and go about this the Afrikan way in the face of some isht that could warrant at the very least an "all hands off" banning of niger brown from the national/international Afrikan community if not much much much much more...

stay strong and BlackStanding and please let us know what we can DO on our ends!

    Afrikans,

Though physically this attack was carried out on me and mines, this attack is an attack on all of us, The Talking Drum Collective. As the statement reads below Officer Brown (Nigel Brown fka Kalonji Jama Changa) wanted our sites down. Websites that are doing an excellent job of educating Our People..... over One Million Afrikans Educated! Also we are getting Our People to Act on Our Issues with the Action Alerts. The government HATES us!

"Nigel Brown fka Kalonji Jama Changa demanded that several Pan-Afrikan web sites that are collectively owned and represent grassroots efforts in the Atlanta area (but also act as coordinating hubs for other organizations in various cities) be placed under his control or dis-assembled."

This is one nigger that is positively displeased
    -Field Marshal George Jackson

For the past month and a half I have been targeted in a vicious telephone and Internet slander campaign. Initially I attempted to disregard it, despite the intense level of lies and repulsive rumors. Up until the moment of the writing of this piece, I struggled with myself on even responding, because as Chairman Fred would say, “ I dont respond to all Bullshit. However, a number of our supporters have urged me to defend my position and let the people know the truth. I would like to first state that the purpose of this piece is not to get anyone to side with me, nor destroy anyone else character but to simply tell the truth. Malcolm said, If you are afraid to tell the truth then you dont deserve to be free. I just would like to ask the reader to be critical and analytical, whether you like what I have to say or not. Truth is the truth no matter who tells it. With that in mind, I moved to Atlanta May 31,2004 to set up a chapter of the Prisoners of Conscience Committee (POCC). Shortly afterwards we held a series of events one in particular was held on June 19th, in which Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. and myself spoke. Afterwards, the Talking Drum Collective (Jacuma Kambui, Darnell Crawford and Alexis Lucas) approached us and made their introduction. They told us they were the creators of www.thetalkingdrum.com,www. Assatashakur.org, and a few other sites. They then offered to build a website for POCC (in which they never did). POCC Atlanta was moving fast, there was serious growth and development. As time went on and POCC Atlanta began to grow and set up programs, events etc., Darnell along with his girlfriend Alexis and his brother Ron eventually joined POCC. Long story short, I was making efforts to get some of the other established organizations to commit to uniting on certain campaigns and programs that our Committee had launched. I found it difficult seeing that we were both organizations, some used words like us and them as if there was some sort of competition. So while on a trip to California with the POCC Atlanta Field Secretary in August 2004, I discussed launching the FTP Movement in Atlanta. FTP is an acronym that means feed the people, for the people, fight the power etc. The concept was birthed in 2001 out of the rap group F*ck the Police (of which I am a founding member along with three other Comrades from New York and Connecticut). The FTP Movement was established as a way to get members and non-members of organizations to get involved in working for the people and remain autonomous. When I introduced the FTP Movement to POCC Atlanta - Darnell, Alexis and even Jacuma who was not a member of POCC, jumped on board with the FTP Movement, offered to build sites for both the FTP Movement and the hip-hop group, which was re-introduced to the people as a means to promote the movement to the youth and help to fund programs for the people. Ron who served as part of our security crew also became a member of the hip-hop group. The websites were built. Jacuma decided that since the talking drum website received 30,000 new hits a month, that he would put both new sites on the front page of that site and also put links on the Assata Shakur forum, so that people could log on. With programs being started we found that we were in serious need of resources, financial and material. I came up with a concept called the dollar a month club, in which we would try to get the people to commit to donating once a month. This concept came up out of a program some of our FTP Comrades launched in Connecticut a few years back called 1 Dollar-1 Unit in which they would solicit $1 from every unit in a housing project to provide programs for the youth, taking them on trips amongst other things. The web crew agreed to put this on the site along with an online store in which ALL of the proceeds would be used for programs and political prisoner campaigns. Since none of the other members of POCC Atlanta were computer savvy we entrusted Darnell and Alexis with monitoring and managing the sites. Up until August 2005, none of us with the exception of Darnell and Alexis knew that there were any resources accumulated from the websites. That was until the Field Secretary began to receive e-mails inquiring about orders that were placed and paid for. She brought it to my attention and when we confronted the two, they informed us that 13 people had placed orders and they had the money sitting in an account. When asked about why the orders had not been honored, we were told that the particular orders were not available at the time the orders were placed (which it was later discovered was not the truth). We found that some orders had been placed as far back as March and no one was contacted, they just took their money and said nothing. The Field Secretary demanded they hand over what was accumulated and she made sure the orders were honored. Around the time that this matter had come up, I was preparing to fly to Oakland to host The 26th Annual Black August Commemoration & Concert for the Original Black August Organizing Committee. The following week when I returned to Georgia, POCC and the Black August Organizing Committee in which I am the Co-Chair of the Atlanta Chapter held a 3-day weekend Commemoration so we scheduled a meeting the following Sunday. The Talking Drum Collective offered to build a website for both the Oakland and Atlanta Black August Commemoration and on the strength of POCC, Shaka At-Thinnin Chairman of the Original Black August Organizing Committee granted me permission to commission the web group to do so. During the last event of the Black August Commemoration in Atlanta, there was a verbal dispute between an unidentified club promoter and POCC over the time of the venue booking. Afterwards, two days later I received a phone call from the local Coordinator, who did not attend the Concert, stating that Darnell called her (on the telephone) and told her that another member of our organization pulled out a weapon in the club. The fact is no one had a weapon on them, club security searched everyone and let us know up front absolutely no one, not even security for the artist scheduled to perform would be allowed entry with any weapon of any kind. After I received the phone call, I immediately telephoned Darnell to ask him did he make these false statements and he said he did. I asked him why did he make the statements about a fellow Comrade, especially on a telephone. He gave me no answer. I told him I wanted to meet with him on the following Sunday. On Sunday, September 4th, Darnell arrived at my house, along with Jacuma. We discussed the above-mentioned matters and at the end of our conversation Darnell announced that Alexis, Ron and himself would be leaving the group. Jacuma went on to mention that some of the resources collected from the ftp online store belonged to the Talking Drum Collective, claiming that some of the people who placed orders did so because they wanted to support the Talking Drum Collective. He couldn't logically explain or prove how people purchased goods from the FTP Movement site to support the Talking Drum website and not the people programs. Nevertheless, he insisted and the Field Secretary ended up giving him $93 to get him away from us. At that point I asked them to shut the online store down.
Fast forward, I began to get e-mails and phone calls from a few folks around the country. They were asking me did I receive the resources they had been sending to support the feed the people program. Once again I hadnt known anything about any resources. At that point I called Darnell and asked him can he and I meet he said yes he would call me with a time. I began to get more e-mail about resources donated and Darnell continued to push me off. I would see him at events around Atlanta and the same thing would happen I would say we need to meet he would say, I will call you Tuesday. The main thing I wanted was for him to take the websites down and to return some materials that he had gotten from our Chairman, which was needed to help in the legal support of our Minister of Defense, Aaron Patterson. I called Jacuma he would say, You have to talk to truth (Darnell). This went on for about 3 months, between September and December. Meanwhile, the content of the site began to change, they removed any information as to how the organization was started and anything referring to me period. Changing history like it didn't even exist. I received an e-mail from a Comrade in Chicago about an F*ck the Police CD she had purchased that they had been selling online unauthorized. I go to a store where another former member worked and was selling the CD's without authorization; he told me I had to talk to Darnell. On December 20th, after months of attempting to meet with this guy who lives 2 exits from me, we go to his house to speak with him about taking these websites down. We arrive two sisters, two brothers and myself. I knock on the door, he asked who it is, I identify myself and at that time I hear someone jack a round off (cock back the hammer of a gun). Darnell opens the door, I asked him whats the deal with the website business, he looks me in my face and says, it was your idea, we made the websites, we own the websites and I dont know what to tell you. To top it off he laughed. So I asked him are you serious, at this time one of the Comrades is approaching and Darnell pushes me, I push him back, and a struggle ensues. Alexis points a 9mm at me I walk right up on her slap the gun and told her to get it out of my face. One of my Comrades takes the gun out of her hand and sees that there was a bullet in the chamber. Darnell attempts to pull out and he is disarmed as well. Without getting into detail, I am talking to Darnell about shutting the sites down, now he agrees. I told him this was stupid that we have to go through all of this nonsense. We are then granted access to the apartment. While I am speaking to him in clear site, in the living room there is a laptop with a picture of me on it. Taking a closer look at least 80% of the photos were of me-photos I never even saw before nor even have knowledge of when they were taken. They even had a picture of my baby son. On this computer we also see Darnell's resume that clearly states that in 2003 he worked as an information specialist for the Tank and Armament division of the U.S. Army, in Michigan. Something he never mentioned in all the times he spoke of the military monitoring sites on the Internet. It should be noted that in the few years that 23-year-old Darnell has lived in Atlanta he has been a member of the Atlanta Chapters of the Uhuru Movement, All African People Revolutionary Party and POCC.
At 3am two of our Sistahs who are college students, began to get phone calls from Jacuma, in which this intellect made a number of threats on their answering machine alleging that I went to Darnells house with a gun, when in fact I did not even own a gun. This grown chap, old enough to be my father calling young Sistahs telephones 3, 4 & 5 o'clock in the morning saying tell Kalonji he is thru in this town He better get out of town before sun down and Somebody gonna get shot. We have this on tape; he actually left messages like this and more on an answering machine. Whoever heard of a grown man supposed to be in the movement calling making threats on the telephone? For the next two weeks these bandits, who were stealing not from me, but from the people, flipped the script and made it looked like we robbed them. In a concerted effort to smear and discredit not only myself but also POCC they schemed and concocted a plan to call Brothas and Sistahs from all over the country and say to them on the telephone Brotha Kalonji and POCC Atlanta ran up on these people with all types of guns and stuck them up. They even went as far as naming weapons that none of us ever owned in life (some people actually let them talk like this on their telephone). They called Comrades of ours that they didn't even know and we still dont know how they got their information. They must have called a couple hundred people from all over.
This garbage went on for a couple of weeks then after going back and forth through community elders an inquiry was scheduled for January 7th, 2006. The day before the inquiry I received a call from the elder that was putting it together and he stated that The Talking Drum Collective did not want to meet at the same time as us. I told him that I was not cool with any separate meetings, because it would not be possible to get the truth out if both parties were not present at the same time. He agreed and the meeting was scheduled for 5pm the next day. Chairman Fred came down from Chicago to attend. At 5:30pm two members of the local chapter and myself arrive at the location. I looked around I saw a number of representatives from different organizations and Jacuma. I was told that there was another meeting earlier and that Darnell and his crew had stated their story. It was clear from the start of the inquiry that it was imbalanced and unjust. The Talking Drum had worked the emotions of some of the organizers present. After all, we don't walk like some of the other organizers, we don't talk like some of the other organizers- we dress like the average Brotha and Sistah on the street and we are serious about revolution. So a lot of organizers are intimidated, and when you see The Talking Drum Collective they look timid, so naturally it would be easy to look at us as the bully and them as the prey. The inquiry was a hypocrisy and the so-called fairness was a mockery to what we call justice. The folks that asked the most questions, I did not know and had never seen before. Instead of dealing with truth in its entirety, we were asked such ridiculous questions about December 20th. Questions like what color gloves did we have on and did you have masks on and other questions that was so preposterous I refuse to repeat them. No one wanted to deal with why we even went to talk to these people in the first place, let alone the blatant contradictions in what had already been said. I even mentioned to Jacuma that I couldn't believe he had the nerve to threaten to have my life taken and he said out of his mouth at this inquiry, it wasn't a threat it was a promise. He also stated his cousin was in a gang and was looking for us. I couldn't believe that this web designer and drummer who usually dresses in a dashiki and sandals is sitting in front of me with his sons clothes on and his hat to the back making a statement like this. Still no one said anything. Aside from that, I mentioned Darnells resume and a number of other things that were suspicious about their actions including the fact that his brother Ron attempted to give another member a faulty weapon to secure a visiting dignitary. Still no one said anything. It was pure insanity and a perfect display of liberalism. I sat at this meeting for about 3 hours and 15 minutes and what came out of it was that we agreed that the state should not be involved and no one would discuss this matter further until the end of the investigation headed by those involved in the inquiry.
Approximately a week later, the madness continues. This time The Talking Drum Collective launches phase 2, the Internet slander campaign, in which they utilize of all things the Assata Shakur forum to malign my name along with POCC Atlanta. On this website they list my slave name in which no one in Atlanta knew (I don’t know how they would know), manufactured lies about how many children I have, called me a Black Law Enforcement Officer (A pig), and even put a picture of me on the web. They went further by taking my name off of effects I contributed to the forum such as the Siafu Drum Newspaper, the column The War Report amongst other things. Still I did not respond I figured my work would precede me. I took on Fidel's quote that History would absolve me. But, I found that these Bloodsuckers would not stop there. They recruited another character that claims to be from St. Louis. This joker who I don't even know if he is real or not seeing that on the Assata Shakur forum, Jacuma has multiple personalities, he goes by DJ RBG, Panthaxxx, and Assata to name a few that we know of. For the character Ifaeshun Reincarnated, if he is in fact real, the only thing I would have to say to him is I never met anyone who would claim to be an Afrikan Spiritualist and at the same time would assist in the spreading of lies and deceit. I wont even address the bogus statements he made. With what he said, besides the fact that he has never even met me proves that he has about as much Afrikan Spirituality as Strom Thurman or J. Edgar Hoover. Before you go running off at the mouth, remember Chairman Mao, No investigation, no right to speak. It is a shame when an African has to lie and make efforts to destroy another African or anyone's character just to gain support to their lunacy. That is a strange kind of man.
In Atlanta, we are still in the streets daily, under my direction we have launched programs such as the feed the people program in which we have fed over 25,000, we have clothed over 3,000, set up tutoring programs for children, taught martial arts in the hood, organized lectures, rallies and more. Our track record speaks for itself and any organization in Atlanta can verify that whether they are fond of us or not, as Kwame Ture stated, The truth is so strong, even a liar has to spit it out. If The Talking Drum Collective was so active ask them why none of the aforementioned existed in Atlanta prior to the POCC touching down. On top of that the people see us all over the country touring, putting in work organizing in the hood, college campuses, the whole thing. Why are they in cyberspace and we are organizing in the real world? Why don't we see you in the community with the masses instead of in the lecture hall? We work for the Have nots, the hungry and the colonized. Who do you work for? May righteousness prevail.

Just thought that I should bring it to everyone's attention what he is still saying.

    Peace.

Once again this opportunist Nigel distorts the truth, but this is expected... Below is a statement from the Elders and the organizers in the Atlanta area it speaks for its self...

Statement and Report on POCC / Talking Drum Collective incident

    * Please do not forward to mass listings: This document is not for mass distribution, but is only being shared with persons in organizations who need to know.

On December 20th of 2005, members of the Atlanta chapter of Prisoners of Consciousness Committee (POCC) were responsible for physical attacks and loss of property to members of the Talking Drum Collective, some of whom were former members of POCC. This attack occurred after members of the Atlanta chapter of POCC came to the residence of Talking Drum Collective membership unannounced and uninvited.

In a conscious effort to prevent the State from becoming involved, members of the Talking Drum Collective made appeals to the Nationalist/Pan-Afrikanist Community in Atlanta to convene hearings to investigate and address these allegations.

In an act of self-governance, in an _expression of self-determination, and in the spirit of healing and repair, representatives from the African Community Centers for Unity and Self-determination, NCOBRA, MXGM, The NSAA Family, the People’s Democratic Uhuru Movement and others set through eight (8) hours of testimony and answers to questions by both parties. Representatives of these organizations are persons that have been heavily involved in our people’s struggle and were invited by one or both parties to participate in a process of community mediation/arbitration. National POCC leadership was also in attendance. After participating in the hearing and speaking to both sides publicly, National POCC leadership informed members of the Atlanta activist community that the operations of the Atlanta POCC chapter was “put on hold” until a new point person could be designated.

After hearing both sides, the following statement is issued:

The events of December 20th represent a dangerous and reckless trend within our people’s movement. This type of behavior is divisive and has the potential to bring fatal harm to members of our community and severely setback efforts toward nation-building and self-determination. Violence must be avoided when resolving contradictions between organizations and individuals within the movement, unless it’s in the context of emergency self-defense. Actions which have the potential for causing bodily harm or lost of life must not be engaged in over material or intellectual property. Movement organizations, including, those involved in this conflict, have been involved in the past in efforts to resolve conflicts within the context of community processes. Resolving issues internal to the movement in an antagonistic way creates an unstable and insecure environment. We must have an environment that encourages trust, communication and cooperation. This can not be achieved if organizations take it upon themselves to physically and emotionally attack the persons and dignities of other organizations and individuals in our community.

While it is clear that both parties bear responsibility for contradictions that escalated into the December 20th incident, we are specifically condemning the behavior of Brother Kalonji Jama Changa, National Chief Coordinator of the POCC, not only for the actions of December 20th, but also for his arrogance and disrespectfulness (particularly to elders of the activist community) before and after that date. While Brother Kalonji Jama Changa has made valuable contributions while residing and engaging in activism in the Atlanta Metro Area, his leadership has contributed to the reckless and dangerous tendency mentioned above. We are specifically calling for the following:

    1. That Brother Kalonji and persons under his leadership on Dec. 20th publicly apologize to members of the Talking Drum Collective and the African Community of Atlanta for this regrettable incident and for injuries resulting from it.

    2. That restitution be paid to the persons injured and for loss of property and other damages. (A detailed accounting of recommended restitution will be delivered to all parties.

Our sincere hope is this Brother Kalonji and persons under his leadership and involved in this incident with him, will see the wisdom and merit in complying with both points above.

The members of the community who have invested their time and energy in this community process find it extremely unfortunate that we have to publicly criticize members of the community. It is necessary, however, when actions threaten the safety and welfare of other members and when the peace of the community and movement are endangered.

*The following organizations and members of the community join with this statement and strongly urge compliance with the points outlined above:

    Jegna Collective
Sister Joan A. Davis (Abena) (Community Elder and Member of ASCAC and UBUNTU)
Mukasa Dada (Willie Ricks), Revolutionary Activist
    Mawuli Mel Davis (Activist Attorney)

    Reverend P.D. Mene-lik Harris
    Hekima Kanyama, African Community Centers
Mark Ogunwale Lomax , Pastor, First Afrikan Church
    Wekesa Madzimoyo (AYA Educational Institute)
    Malcolm X Grassroots Movement-Atlanta
    Atlanta Chapter of N’COBRA

Thirty eight years ago on 12/04/2009 the united snakes murdered Fred Hampton & Mark Clark, this date also marks the 6 year anniversary of the launching of this site in solidarity of these martyrs.

are we (collectively or individually) planning a response to this specifically? what's true, what contradicts, what is a bold-faced lie? are we going to leave the Elder's statement to be the response?

on another note, i starting to feel like i'm living through Panthers vs. US, Chicago Panthers vs. BlackStones, East Coast Panthers vs. West Coast Panthers. if whitey ain't pulling the strings here, nigel is on his own playing the part of a cointelprofessional.

    what's up? let us know.

Chairman Hampton was at the ATL meeting. Last I checked we were still waiting for him to issue his official statement. Now this other thing has broken out w/ folks saying Hampton tried to kill somebody's fam. He might be distracted, although he has had enough time to issue something.

Chairman Fred indicated to me that the POCC was releasing a statement the following day, which was 12 days ago... he was present for the entire hearings, the Elders sent for him... I also called Chairman Fred while I was @ Truth's home about 2 hrs after the terrorists left..
