| New Siafu Drum Launched!!! Please join us in this journey for self-sufficiency! We are inviting you to join our esteemed contributors like our forum's own: Baba "It's on like a pot of vegetarian neckbones" Sun Ship ![]() Gaiamon![]() I'm the Truth![]() http://www.siafudrum.com/ ABOUT US On the temples of Luxor, Kemet (Ancient Egypt) reads the proverb: The best and shortest road towards knowledge of truth is Nature. If we are to obtain knowledge of truth we must begin with nature. With the increase of greedy, anti-environment businessmen it’s hard to rely on their wonderful yet indolent technology. After witnessing the failure by the U.S. government in the Gulf Coast region in America during hurricane Katrina it has become necessary for us to look for ways to reduce dependence. The Siafu Drum newspaper fills this void. The Siafu Drum will focus on practical, relevant information towards self-determination as well as African culture. What is a Siafu's Drum? Siafus are ants from East Africa who epitomize teamwork. Individually they are strong but as a team they can strip a water buffalo down to the bone in under an hour. While traditionally the drum is used for ceremonies and as a call to action. Using these symbols we look to nature in the spirit of teamwork, self-determination, and action. With nature as our philosophy our The Siafu Drum will be sectioned in the five elements of the Earth each element having its own concept: Earth: organic, urban farming/growing, homesteading, etc Fire: alternative energy, cooking, etc Air: Environmental Racism, pollution or something like, Health, global warming, etc. Water: irrigation, water collection, birth, washing, etc Spirit: The spirit is what harnesses and energizes all elements. We look to our Ancestors to learn the ways of harnessing each element and how they applied it to their daily lives. The Siafu Drum is looking for writers for its website, so if you can write or would like to help with the newspaper, please email us at needhelp@siafudrum.com or PM me. Mamazen Editor-in-Chief

Asante Sana!!! It is encouraging to hear this!!! Why wait to get some land? You can grow anything anywhere....got a container? You can grow anything from basil to tomatoes! Start small....just start! I started to grow tomatoes in 5 gallon paint buckets...after I scoured them clean....I lined them up on the patio of my apartment.....and it only grew from there....that was over 10 years ago. My how time flies!

Hotep Mamazen. You are right about that. I started growing fruits and veggies eight years ago. My next door neighboor, R.I.U. to Warrior Mukulu, was the first person who showed me how to till the land and spread the wealth of the land amongst others. I have been doing so since he first showed me how to take care of the land. It starts with one individual and spreads to the next. I have now shown others how to till the land and how to stop depending on Walmart and what not for food products that are canned.
