A question regarding the origins of IFA

A question regarding the origins of IFA

Quote:
Several legends concerning the origin and ancestry of Oduduwa abound in Yourba and Benin mythology. The Yoruba believe he is the father of the Yoruba and progenitor of all Yoruba Oba's and the Oba of Benin.

The Bini believe that he is a Benin prince called EKLADERHAN who was banished by his father, the Ogiso of Benin.

Oduduwa is believed to have had several sons who later became very powerful traditional rulers of Yorubaland.

Yoruba tradition holds that Oduduwa fled from Mecca to Ile-Ife, bringing with him the Ifa religion which was under persecution in Mecca. He established it firmly in Ile-Ife and founded the Ogboni cult to protect the ancient customs and institutions of his people.
I was discussing Afrikan Spirituality on another site with a member and he gave me several legends concerning the origins. The last one I find highly interesting but would anyone who practice IFA care to elaborate on the origins?

Its so interesting that its bogus. Its get tiresome refuting all the claims that "somebody" else developed Ifa. Aren't Black people smart enough to have done that?

First of all Ifa is an Orisa that has never lived on Earth as a Human. Orunmila is a Irunmole that has lived both as a Primal Energy Pattern and Essential building block of Creation, as well as a Man.

Ifa represents the total energy that remains in Orun (when Orunmila began reincarnating on Earth), the tools of divination and the energy we call Wisdom. Some people see them as one. But Orunmila invoked Ifa while he was Earth, so we know that they are not really one in the same. Ifa also represents the methodology or science of Orisa worship in total.

Orunmila is the witness to Creation. What the Yoruba and Bini are arguing over is ONE of his incarnations. It is widely accepted that he was reborn several times over. The argument is completely political. Which is why you dont see Awo or Ol'Orisa engaged in the discussion. It is largely symbolical and plays into an ongoing fued about the legitimacy of certain Kingships and which one is senior to the other. It has nothing to do with Mecca.

But Orunmila is an Irunmole. That is, he was here BEFORE the birth of Earth and Man. He recorded the way in which the world was created and recorded the 1st laws while he was acting as an Irunmole.

He name infers that he is second only to the Creator as he was the first Irunmole. Orunmila the man was an Irunmole incarnating into a body to teach the masses. By the time of his death he was widely known as a spiritual master. He would not have been running from anyone. They would have been running from him.

(As usual) Anyone that disagrees do the simple thing: Sit down on the mat, do divination and ask Ifa. Orunmila speaks DIRECTLY through Ifa divination.

We really really really have to be careful what we share and for what purposes. There simply isnt a way to bring Orisa'Ifa down. All these sloppy lies are incredibly easy to refute.

Orunmila currently resides in Orun.

Arabism and Eurocentricism are on the RISE. Fight Fight Fight!
