Is There a Difference Between Religion and Spirituality???

I havent much to say yet except that I'm honored to have found a web site with such intelligent Africans as the ones whom have posted many of the well thought out messages here. Thanks for letting me know that I, we, are not alone in our struggle.

The difference between religion and spirituality is that spirituality is human and devine. It is human in that Allah created us to be spirituality pure, innnocent unblemished and thats human. But Allah also created us with an appetite for devine will....

As has been articulated by others in this and other threads spirituality IS a science. For a person "to be spiritual" then means that they are LIVING in harmony with the LAWS governing that science.

People are not necessarily born spiritual - although many of us due to our spiritual progression in past incarnations come already having learned spirtual lessons the fact that most of us are here (on earth) means that we still have lessons that are UNlearned (the exception being Sages who come to assist others in realizing their Divinity).

Religions then are the systems set up to teach the science of spirituality which is truly the "science of life" itself.

If we must communicate in this alien language (sadly so) then we must be able to define words so they reflect OUR understanding and reality. We have the power to do that and really that is a part of what power is. There is no need to have aversion to a word, "religion", simply because others who have come to use it refer to realities that are based in confusion or distortions. It is THEIR understanding and reality that are at issue not the words they attempt to use to define them.
