Discovering your spiritual lineage

I've been reading lately about spiritual lineage and how divination and communication with the ancestors has been used in the past by some to discover their lineage. From what I've read some lineages of African-Americans have been traced to Akan, Yoruba and Kemet. Has anyone here been able to discover their spiritual lineage? And if so, what is your spiritual lineage?

Would you define "spiritual lineage"? you do mean something more than just tracing your family line/blood line, right? I've read where you can access information about your roots via divination.

Well, for those whom came in contact with their ancestors that would tell them what Nation that they came from, or like you said divination with priest/priestess.

For example about me, my spiritual lineage is Ashanti and Ewe of Ghana and Bakongo of Angola. My physical lineage (because I took the DNA test) is Yoruba.
