Nicely put....

"Organization is more than just an action, but it's a group effort"

Culture is the totality of the people's willful behavior at its origins. After some time this behavior seems to become a part of their genetic makeup. If you take into account the African, Harvard trained professional who has displaced himself from his roots, no matter how hard he tries to assimilate, turn on some James Brown and he is African again! Have you heard Barack Obama talk to Black Folks? His tones change, watch him carefully! If you look at traditions in the Holy Roller, and Pentecostal Church, the "Holy Ghost" that is "caught", looks very African in nature. If you make a comparison between Vodun "possessions" and the "Holy Ghost", you will see the similiarities. Our "Africaness" may be buried under confusing theology, but it is still there! Thus, our cultural selves is aligned with our African roots regardless of how we attempt to move past it! Spirituality is culturally rooted as well!!!

It sounds a little like you are saying that should one raise a pig with dogs it still will rut.
that ain't culture

Traditions and habits, social conditioning, in our case 'post-chattel' slavery traditions and habits, social conditioning and response.

No, to rut is not culture.
Culture is a higher form.

"Among the animals there is no cultivation of spritual life That is not possible; the animals cannot cultivate this knowledge
Therefore if man does not cultivate spiritual knowledge they are exactly like animals"

Understanding, culture is more complex than "rutting" but it is not so deep that is without definition. Thank you for your efforts to educate me on the meaning of culture with your understanding!!! Still no matter how you slice it the actualities of culture are not so easily erased as all that! We have been in this country for 400+ years and still we have remnants of our Afrikan selves, the proof is very easily recognizable! You and I are here having this, discussion, debate or what have you. It is certainly not because we woke up one day and decided to be Afrikan! It is neither because we had someone from Afrika come to us say, HEY, WAKE THE F---! UP!

It is because we have had some access to our cultural/spiritual selves, I don't separate the two! I am Afrikan because my spirit is so, I am Afrikan because my culture is so! By the way, are we so sure that animals do not have cultures? Certainly they have spirit! I would not so easily write off this "higher" form of being so easily! I mean for all the "spirit" and high intellect we are supposed to have, we aren't very bright with regard to human relations! We are also the only "animated" being on the planet that fights nature itself. So apparently we aren't that much "higher" than animals. Different maybe but not "higher". Trust me I am not some animal rights activist either, I just find it ironic our views of ourselves. We as Afrikans must return the world to a culture that respects nature, and respects other humans as well! These Aryans are a bad group when dealing with cultures that loved the earth and respected animal, in short they suck at it!!!

My beloved forgive my longwindedness, I so love a wrangle on the culture idea!
