I've never tried this because I've always thought it was weird & lame

but I've been clinically depressed for like 2 years now and none of the pills I've been taking work for me.

So I'm thinking about trying this.

ROTFLMBOA!!!!

My bad dude. Im actually not really feeling all of these... I was really lookin for pure ambience.... most of these these got too much of a hippie touch to em so far. The first one, "the healing mantras" are good if you're into Yoga, which I am..... It involves a lot of chanting..... I become very "free" very easily with that. . ... I think its the Ohm part.

I dunno man.

I just need SOMETHING to do to make me feel less stressed/depressed

I haven't smoked weed since 2005 but I'm starting to think 2009 is the year to start back up again.

Asante Sana for the Mantras... But Opera ? Really ?

Gotta get my mind more opened . As far as I'm concerned it's an elitist kind of music for old grey-haired ladies from Sutton Place, Gloucester Road-Kensington in London or the 16th district of Paris...

They say music has no frontier, that's must be true I guess.

Ehem excuse me while I just roll on the floor and try to stifle my incredulity…anyway brothers and my very loved sisters just a little warning …café del mar and a spliff is a bad combination…if u have depression that could send you over the brinks

Ok ok enough… I’ll contribute something nicer….melanated sounds for melanated people (with melanated minds)

Alemu Aga ዓለሙ አጋ (born 1950) is an Ethiopian musician and singer, a master of the bèguèna. Born in Entotta, near Addis Ababa, Alemu became interested in the begena (a ten-stringed member of the lute family, also known as "King David's Harp") at the age of twelve, when a master of the instrument moved in next door to his family, the Aleqa Tessema Welde-Emmanuel. Aleqa Tessema began teaching at Ras Desta school, where Alemu was a pupil. As well as studying the begena at school, Alemu carried his master's instrument to and from school, and thus benefited from more of Tessema's time.
He went on to study geography at Addis Ababa University, and after graduation went to work as a geography teacher at the Yared Music School, where for seven years he also taught begena. Alemu went on to become an acknowledged master of the instrument, first recorded in 1972 by Cynthia Tse Kimberlin for a major UNESCO collection, and performing and broadcasting around the world. In 1974, however, the Derg military junta came to power in Ethiopia; their anti-religious policies also included the banning of the begena from radio broadcasts, and the closing down of the Yared School's teaching of the instrument. As a result, Alemu Aga decided to give up his teaching post in 1980, and opened a souvenir shop in Addis Ababa's Piazza district.
For a time he played only in private, but the collapse of the Derg's régime led eventually to a change in state policy, and Alemu again began to teach and perform in public.

Ashit Desai - Born to Kunjbihari and Mayuriben Desai, Ashit inherited music from his parents. After a degree in Commerce, Baroda-born Ashit took a Diploma in vocal music from M.S. University and left for Mumbai to realize his dreams. Ashit rose to the aspirations of his parents and in no time carved a niche for himself in the world of music. At 18, he won the All India Radio's Best Singer Award in 1969. Thereafter, awards, accolades and distinctions followed him. He received the Gujarat State Award in 1976 & 1989.
Ashit has been a playback singer for more than 25 Gujarati films and has received the best playback singer's award for his song in the film 'Sonbai ni Chundadi'. He has performed in a number of concerts all over the country, and his programs are regularly broadcasted on AIR and Doordarshan.
His association with Sitar Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar paved way for greater name and fame. Ravi Shankar assigned music composing task for the Asiad & placed him in charge of overall coordination of cultural events. Ashit's efforts were rewarded by the coveted Asiad Jyoti Medal by the President of India. In 1988, he conducted Pandit Ravi Shankar's orchestral compositions at the closing ceremony of the Festival of India in Moscow. As the maestro's assistant, orchestra conductor & singer, he toured the U.K. & India in 1989 with Panditji's ballet, 'Ghanashyam'. Ashit also sang for Attenborough's film 'Gandhi'. He got wide acclaim for his music direction in the Doordarshan serial 'Chanakya'.
Ashit is married to Hemangini Desai, an equally talented singer. Together, they have groomed their son Aalap, as a fine singer and tabla player. The trio have hit foreign soil many times and have enthralled the audiences with their impeccable music and heavenly voices.
